For example, let's say he told you he was going to take you somewhere and didn't let you have a say in it. Or, you were arguing with him and he put his foot down and told you "not another word young lady, this is final"

That's going too far. A woman is an adult and should be treated so. If a guy talked to me like I was a child that way, I'd dump him.

However, I don't mind a guy "being in charge" if he's kind, considerate, and taking my feelings and needs into account. For example, he might insist on taking me someplace without telling me where so he can surprise me. I'm NOT going to say no! A guy did that once many years ago and we ended up at Magic Mountain in California. I had the most wonderful time! Now.... what if I said no? I'd have missed a lot of fun that was planned just for me, by someone who cared about me very much.

I actually prefer the guy to take charge of things and I'll go along for the ride.... if he's not nasty or overbearing about it.

Best Wishes,

Sue

First example: no ... it is always proper to let the lady have a say in it.... you may suggest several places that you think appropriate, but then let her choose ... talk about it!

Not another word, YOUNG LADY????? THIS IS FINAL????? Oooooooo .... no, sirree bob! She is not your daughter, and that sounds like an angry father who is dealing with a rebellious, naughty little girl. That is not taking charge. Wrong role, sorry.

that really depends on the situation, Not letting me know where where going and that sure i love that, but arguing and telling me not another word sorry, thats where it ends. I love when a guy takes control on anything else. but there is a limit to it too.

women love an in control man (but not on anything related to the house, garden furniture, drapes, kitchen etc.) guys get the shop.

have you ever scene a couple where the woman is running the show, they look and act pathetic and the man looks like hes gonna wet himself.

But if the guy is a jerk and player most girls get tired of that and wont let this happen for long.

My husband is the head of the household. He makes a lot of the decisions, because I trust him to make good choices that will benefit both of us.
Calling a full-grown woman "young lady" and saying "not another word... this is final" is NOT how we communicate. We have a respect for each other and collaborate on issues instead of fighting each other over them. That is one of the many things that I value in our relationship.

It depends on the situation because no one runs my life but me. But as for taking me out somewhere without telling me I would like it because it tests his knowledge of how much he knows about you and what u like. But if we're arguing and he says that HELL NO! No body tells me when to be quiet. Um I think that's stated in the amendment of freedom of speech.

No, that's just being rude. A real man would let the girl decide things, or at least make sure that she had a say in everything.

NOOOOO. Thats more like a dad. Not cool. I like guys that are aggressive as in making the first move and not being a punk, but bossing me around just crosses the line!
