Being gay is nothing to do with any religion. It is what one is born as. You can't change something like that. You can try to live a life that you were not meant to live. If God had wanted some one to be straight then God would have made them straight.
People can say all that they want that it is a choice and people are born straight, but these are people who do not have the slightest idea what it means to be gay. And if they think that it is that easy then they should try to "convert" to being gay, even for a second then come and say that it can be done, that one can change their sexuality.

Genetically, it is possible to be born homosexual just as it is to be born pedosexual, as well as the other orientations now recognized as established at birth. But, there is a difference between having the urges and acting on them. As a society, we expect pedosexuals to not act upon their urges, as well as those attracted to animals and the dead. What makes homosexuality any more important than any of the others? They feel and wish they can be free from discrimination for what they feel.
Who should decide who has the right to freely express their urges and who shouldn't?
God didn't create homosexuals, any more than he created any other genetic disorders. They are a result of the imperfection of man handed down over the last 6000+ years.
I'm sorry that you have to feel the way you do, but at least you are not attracted to children and trying to control the behavior. At least you can say that you are homosexual, but are controlling the urges. A pedosexual cannot even say that for fear of becoming an outcast, even when they have done nothing to harm a child.
When the time of the end comes, and all humans are brought back to perfection in a new world, those urges will go away, as it will with pedosexuals and all the others who face this daily dilemma.
I know that this is not what you want to hear, but it is what you need to hear. No, in the currect old system, you cannot be "cured" or "reverted" or anything else. You are what you are. It is up to you whether you want to live you life now or live your life later, as a perfect human being. Living without illness or aging, and with 100% of your mental capabilities. Consider it, you will be almost 20 times the intelligence of the smartest person living today. When this earth is done being reverted back to a paradise, than there is the whole galaxy to explore, perhaps with just the power of our minds.

SCIENTISTS are hard at work to try to find genetic causes for alcoholism, homosexuality, promiscuity, violence, other aberrant behavior, and even for death itself. Would it not be a relief to find that we are not responsible for our actions but are merely victims of biology? It is human nature to blame someone or something else for our errors.
If the genes are to blame, scientists hold out the possibility of changing them, eliminating undesirable traits through genetic engineering. The recent success in mapping the entire human genome has given such aspirations new impetus.
This scenario, however, is based on the premise that our genetic endowment is, indeed, the villain responsible for all our sins and errors. Have the scientific detectives found enough evidence to make a case against our genes? No.
Many homosexuals argue that they cannot change. They are, in effect, saying that the Bible is wrong. Some assert, “I cannot help it; I was born a homosexual.” Or, they may say that homosexuality is the result of their rearing. There are, no doubt, many social and emotional factors involved in a person’s turning from heterosexual to homosexual relationships, and the root causes of homosexuality may not be known. But no one should fatalistically argue that ‘I cannot help it.’ Why?
Because the bulk of available information agrees with the Bible: Homosexuals CAN change. Nothing but the person himself forces an individual to remain homosexual.
This is attested to at 1 Corinthian 6:9-10 already quoted above by Bill, but in short asserts "That is what some of you WERE".

Jehovah's Witnesses don't have a rule asserting that with the intention to be baptized, you could grow to be enemies with any specific group of human beings. we are unlike that, besides the fact that there are a number of human beings right here who attempt to declare in any different case. i'm a Witness, I also have a pal who's gay, yet he's not my close chum. he's greater like a "hi, how are you?" chum. even however we've oftentimes used one yet another our entire lives.

We all inherited imperfection from Adam and Eve.
With regards to homosexuality, it is true, genes and hormones may play some role. Even so, Scientific American reported that the evidence “strongly suggests that environment contributes significantly to sexual orientation.”
According to the book Love in Ancient Greece, “it was considered shameful in Crete for a well-born boy not to have a [male] lover.” No mysterious gene or hormone caused this attitude, it flourished because Greek culture permitted, and encouraged it. This well illustrates how powerful a role environment can play. Today, allusions to homosexuality abound in TV, movies, music, and magazines.
I found the following information very interesting...Mental-health writer Joseph Nicolosi claims that male homosexuality is “almost always the result of problems in family relations, particularly between father and son.” Also, significant numbers of homosexuals are victims of childhood molestation, which can produce lasting physical and emotional damage. For some it may create what one writer called a “distorted sexual identity.”
So, which is it, genetics or environment?? Scientists may never resolve exactly how much of a role nature and nurture play in same-sex attraction.

However, like was mentioned in the answers above, our opinion, isn't important. What counts is what Jehovah thinks, and the scriptures listed in the above comments plainly state what the Bible says on the matter. It is also important to note that true Christians view their fellow humans ( no matter what their sexual orientation ) as potential disciples of Christ, always treating them in a respectful and dignified manner.

It doesn't really matter what we, as individuals, believe. All that matters is that homosexuality is something that God disapproves of.
We aren't fearful and we aren't full of hate. If we were, we'd be killing people like the rest of the world, wouldn't we? Instead, we don't get involved in wars, politics or such things as these. In fact, if we were fearful people, wouldn't it stand to reason that we wouldn't be going door-to-door in a crazy world like this where you never know what you're going to encounter?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that it doesn't matter whether a person is born with tendencies toward homosexuality, or whether homosexual tendencies are acquired somehow. There seems no real purpose in requiring an answer.
Jehovah's Witnesses are similarly uninterested in whether a person is born with a tendency toward promiscuity or whether promiscuous tendencies are acquired somehow.
The bible does not discuss homosexual acts as meriting any special consideration different from other forms of fornication. Jehovah's Witnesses who unrepentantly engage in fornication in any form are expelled from the congregation. Those who may be struggling to refrain from committing fornication are given the love, support, and fellowship from the congregation to keep them virtuous and chaste. Even those who sin but are repentant are counseled and encouraged by congregation elders, and allowed to remain in the congregation.
It is only those who insist on indulging in their tendencies toward fornication (in any form) who disqualify themselves from continuing association with Jehovah's Witnesses.

Beginning with the 1960’s, when homosexuals became more open about their practices, many churches debated the matter, then accepted them as members. Some churches now even ordain homosexuals as clergymen. In order to help sincere persons who had questions on these matters, the publications of Jehovah’s Witnesses also discussed these issues. But among the Witnesses, there was never any question as to how homosexuality would be viewed. Why not? Because they do not treat the Bible’s requirements as if these were merely the opinions of men of another era. (1 Thess. 2:13) They gladly conduct Bible studies with homosexuals so these can learn Jehovah’s requirements, and such persons may attend meetings of the Witnesses to listen, but no one who continues to practice homosexuality can be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Jude 7.
Read for yourself what the apostle Paul said at 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10: “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes [“male prostitutes,” New International Version; “effeminate,” King James Version], nor men who lie with men [“sodomites,” Jerusalem Bible; “homosexual perverts,” Today’s English Version], nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.” Note that Paul specifically mentioned those who evidently take on a passive sexual role and those who assume a more active “male” role in their immoral relations. Thus he made it plain that God disapproves of all homosexual acts.
Paul’s words "That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene.” Here Paul specifically condemned both male and female homosexuality. He condemned homosexual practices as unnatural and “obscene.”
1 Cor. 6:9-11: “Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.” (Regardless of such a background, if persons now abandon their former unclean practices, apply Jehovah’s righteous standards, and exercise faith in his provision for forgiveness of sins through Christ, they can enjoy a clean standing before God. After reforming, they may be welcomed in the Christian congregation.)
Jehovah's Witnesses believe what "Paul" said above.

I would guess that they'd argue it's a learned thing, being born that way implies God is imperfect since he created us. Since they think being gay is evil, it would mean that God is evil too. If they can say it's from society's influence, they don't have to blame God.
