Try the BMI calculator.
http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm
Sit-up, stomach crunches, and lots of running helps. Try exercise 30 minutes per day.
Try not to have her eat school lunches, since you have NO idea how many calories or fat you're eating. Pack your lunches are better. If you're family runs out of leftovers and must need to buy lunch at school, then do.
During break, she can eat a piece of fruit like apples or oranges. This way, her stomach is more balanced and she won't be too hungry and eat more during lunch. Plus, fruit is very healthy. What I don't recommend is that don't put bananas in backpacks. My sister's backpack smelled like bananas when she got back home. And there was like, this smushed banana and her homework was all sticky.
Try not to chow down on chips, donuts, soda, chocolate during TV time. Instead, eat:
-whole bread with warm milk., which is surprisingly filling
-oatmeal. Sometimes some dark brown sugar makes it taste better)
-bagels, They are better than donuts by health and taste. the best bagels are in Noah's. I like the blueberry, cinnamon raisin, and chocolate chip from them.
Walking to school or back home is good. It takes me and my sister about 30-40 minutes. It's really nice, and you get to chat with your friends. It's the perfect time not to think about homework or school. Joining a sport is nice. I love playing badminton. It's super awesome/fun. I'm planning to join the badminton team once I get out of middle school.

Remember, she's still a kid so it's ok. In the 10-14's your appetite increases by a lot for some reason.

Stop drinking soda completely. Soda can pack on pounds.
Also, if she gets into a habit of making healthier food choices then she'll be doing herself a favor by making a positive change to her lifestyle that will stay with her forever.
Maybe try going on 10 or 20 minute walks together. Walking can be fun, because it's not harcore but it works your whole body, and it can be really fun when you have someone to walk with and talk with.
Whatever you do, try not to be critical or negative or threatening to her about her weight. That won't do her any good and will only make her feel bad. Be a positive role model for her and show your support by trying to make some better choices too. =)

I have an 11 year old cousin (male) who came to live with me and my Grandma 3 years ago. He was 8 years old then, less than 4 feet tall, and weighed 115 lbs.
My Grandma just took him off all pre-processed food, except for bread. He doesn't get to eat anything that is made by factories like chips or pizza snacks or patties.
Instead she gives him fresh vegetables and fruit for his snacks. And all our meals are made with whole foods (fresh or frozen as is with no extra added ingredients). We eat meat and potatoes and salads for meals. Or rice for a change. Once a week we have spaghetti with sauce made from scratch.
The idea was to fill him up with foods that didn't have a lot of "empty" calories in them.
And another rule is no snacking after 5 p.m.. We usually have supper by 6, and then nothing afterwards before bedtime.
He lost all of his excess weight within 7 months of moving in with us. (He went down to 75 lbs.) My cousin is now 5'4" tall, 11 years old and 92 pounds, and eats a LOT, like most pubescent boys.
Just cut out ALL the junk.

She should be focusing on losing pounds everywhere instead of just focusing on her stomach. She's a bit young for a vigorous workout so just make her join a sports team, take her for a jog or bike ride, limit her junk food intake and soon, she'll start losing weight everywhere, including her stomach.
Maybe she can do swimming? It uses a lot of strength and its summer so... =] [Well it summer where I live... not sure if its the same for you..]

Eat less and exercise more. 20 minutes of activity is considered the minimum amount of exercise. Two pounds loss a week is reasonable. There is 52 weeks in a year. That means she should be able to shed the weight within a year.

She needs to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, and cut down on the junk food. It isnt possible to lose weight in one specific area, so she won't just lose weight off of her stomach, but as long as she stays away from junk food and drinks plenty of water she will look great!

Sometimes girls their age they a little chubby when they're young and they normally lose those extra pounds as they grow up. Dont' worry too much, she's 11 she will have plenty of time to worry about weight, diets and exercise when she gets older.

I think she should eat more healthy like for example some more:
Fruits
vegetables
of course meat! If your on a high proteen diet I would suggest that. I would also try to do more situps, running, lifting weights, or swim more too! You could also suggest a gym you'll lose weight fast!!!!!
