That was true, many years ago, but supposedly the red that is used as food coloring these days is perfectly safe according to the government. Many years ago there were a few red dyes (i.e. #'s 30, 32, 35 and so on) that were. I believe there is only two now that are only removed from the list of cancerous red dyes, the ones used now are safe. I could be more more specific, and Google it, but I'll leave it at this. As I know this is the truth.
Hope that helps

Chips Cause Cancer

Well diet is really 90% of the issue with cancer. Look at the chips...how are they made? Saturated fat? Etc? No natural ingredients? Western diet, when compared to many other cultures, has a higher cancer rate.

Hot foods, however, can prevent or limit cancer. For example they recently found that 'ginger' can kill ovarian cancer cells in a lab setting. When you compare India and America (even though India has a larger percentage of people), their cancer rates are almost exactly the same as ours...how is this? Their diet is higher in 'spicy' foods. Unscientific, yes....but look at Japan and asian countries that use soy products, and less 'western diets'. They are healthier and much cancer free than us. For example when Japanese women started to eat a western diet, their rate for ovarian cancer jumped considerably compared to traditional Japanese women on a regular Japanese diet where ovarian cancer is very low.

I doubt that you could ever consume enough to cause any problems. I'll also continue eating all my flaming hot chips and not worry about something like that. Almost all processed foods have colors added for your EYE APPEAL.
