I have painted my living room Honey Pot color from Lowes and my kitchen Tibetan Red from Lowes also. I have white and black accents in the kitchen. I have put slipcovers on the sofa and loveseat that is very close to the wallcolor in the kitchen. I need help with what kind of accents to put in the living room, what color frames(black)? valance for window(white)? other accent pieces. I also have white woodwork and white blinds in the living room and kitchen. Can I mix stripes and floral how much is too much? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I love interior decorating! I went online to Lowe's, but I couldn't find either of the paint colors you mentioned. The Honey Pot sounds like it would be a warm golden color, which is a wonderful neutral.

I'm thinking the red may be a true red, but I'm not sure.

If your kitchen is red, and your slipcovers for the sofa and loveseat is similar, I would be careful to add more red only in small doses, such as accent pieces like candles, books, etc.

One thing you can do if check your paint chip cards for other shades in the palette, and use those for accent and accessory colors. For instance, I can visualize lighter tones of the honey for a chenille throw for your sofa, accent pillows, mats for pictures, etc.

Certain shades of green look fabulous with golden hues, especially shades of moss, olives, or deep greens. This would be a wonderful accent color if you could find a shade that complements both the gold and the reds.

Yes, you may use florals and stripes as long as they are in the same color palette. Often you will find coordinated fabrics in the upholstery/drapery section of your fabric store. Take your paint chips with you and do some "fun" shopping, even if it's just to get ideas. If you can do simple sewing, you could stictch up some throw pillows, or have some made from small remnants of fabrics.

If you have Ross and Marshall stores in your area, they are a great source for good looking pillows and accessories that are reasonably priced.

I'm not sure about a white valance for your window. I'd have to see the whole room in perspective, and obviously, I can't do that!
I visualize a print that would pull the gold and red together - perhaps used in accent pillows.

I think narrow black lacquered frames would be handsome with the gold and reds.

Good luck. I'm sure it'll all come together beautifully.

I dont have a clue what color honey pot is but I would suggest that you look at stores like Pier One, Home Goods, and those home furnishing type stores. Taske some pictures of the rooms and then take them with you when you hit the store. Get close ups of the exact colors on the walls. Sounds like you like WARM colors with bold accents BLACK/WHITES. Depends on your syle and taste but those great wall/candle pieces made from metal look great and also I saw some white painted boxes mounted on walls which also look fantastic......of course you can paint them any color and attach them with hidden wall brackets etc. If honey pot is a yellow---you may want to try a really dark brown wood accent which would also go with your red as long as it doesnt clash with your white/black accents.
websites like HDTV have good suggestions so you might also try there. Good luck and have fun!

You can indeed mix stripes and florals if they are subtle enough; say a small print of flowers and broader stripes for instance. The colours you chose sound terrific, good luck on your project!

what color is the sofa and chair? what color is the carpet? are the kitchen and living room connected? picture frames should be maybe espresso colored or bronze. the valance color would depend on the color of furniture upholstery and flooring/carpeting.

Kilim rugs and pillow come in lots of patterns and nice earthy colors. Pottery Barn sells kilim pillow covers at a reasonable price and I think they look great with the reds, tans, browns and blacks.

Enjoy!
