What is flirting?Is it something a Christian should avoid doing?

I have a small idea of what flirting is. But I'm not 100% possitive about it. I am a Christian, so please tell me if I should avoid doing this. Thanks for your help!^_^

Well, that certainly is a loaded question.

Here's a couple of questions to ask yourself: Is what I are doing pleasing God? Are I continually putting Him first in your life? OR am I doing things that I know are sinful, that cause me guilt and shame, such as telling crude jokes, using His name in vain, gossipping, or lying?
What sort of person am I displaying myself as? Could my actions be misinterpreted and cause others to think I am a hypocrite -- someone who says they are a Christian but doesn't act that way?

From my experiences, I've found a couple of "bad" types of flirting: flirting in order to manipulate, flirting with someone who is already in a committed relationship, flirting by lying or by making others look bad, or flirting in a way which is promiscuous and sexual.
I've also found a couple of "good" types of flirting: Flirting in order to get to know someone better; flirting by giving sincere compliments; or flirting by honestly telling the other person how you feel.

Here's a passage that might help you: "Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God." - 2 Cor. 10:31

Flirting is teasing, without the intention of following up! It sends wrong signals, especially to the opposite sex. Guys think different than girls, and don't liked to be jerked around by a girl who doesn't mean business, which is what flirting is. Some girls think it is cute, and are encouraged by their female friends to behave in the same manner. It will certainly cause you to earn a negative reputation, especially amongst guys. You will start getting a reputation for doing things that you haven't done, just because you decided to be flirtatious!
Even if a girl is not a Christian, if she doesn't want the reputation that comes along with being a flirt, I would suggest leaving it alone.

Flirting, my dictionary definitions, is anything from talking to sexual intercourse.

In common language, it's the winks, sexy chatter, cute little smiles, etc. that indicate an interest.

It can be sexual flirting, which I do believe a Christian should not do, unless it's with your spouse. Anything goes once sanctified in the marriage bed.

Light, casual flirtatious talking can let someone know you are interested. As long as it's not of a sexual nature, it should be ok. You will know in your heart if you are not doing right. As a Christian, you should never flirt in a way that encourages a sexual response.

Flirting is when you "tease" another person of the opposite sex. It can be as extreme as kissing on the cheek and being all on each other and as simple and innocent as a sexy-kind of look. It is not at all a bad thing if it's not too extreme. Christian are allowed to have a little fun.

You can flirt as a Christian, but not to the point of flaunting your sexuality or anything. Just keep it playful and tasteful.

By the way, after the age of 21, if you don't flirt back a little, you won't be able to go courting.

Its nothing bad. I'm a christian and I do it with girls I like. well, it is kinda hard to explain but I'll try. Its when you are saying stuff to get them to like you more, or to turn them on.
