God's church is made up of people and not buildings fellowship is good but fellowship will not get anyone to heaven. God provided the atonement for sin and his name is Jesus Christ and he is the way to the father.

Hell has nothing to do with going to church and everything to do with the condition of your heart. It's what is within and your relationship with God that opens the doors to heaven. The assembly of believers ("church") is for their own good. If you are a Christian (though I'll take a wild stab and guess you are not) and have never been to church, then you are missing out on fellowship with other believers and growing in your faith and others are missing out on what you could do for their faith. If you're not a Christian, you could live in a church and still not see the pearly gates if you never change your heart.

Having never attended church does not make you a bad person or hell-bound, On the contrary, there are bad people who go to church and are hell-bound, but in my opinion you are missing out on a very spiritual rewarding environment filled with people who believe in a loving caring Power that is greater than all mankind...and it is in this environment that miracles are cultivated and you develop faith and trust in that Power...it is truly amazing, uplifting, empowering and life-changing...it is a place that a person would be blessed to experience...so, I invite you to my church....Mason Temple Church of God in Christ in Conway, South Carolina...we have a saying, "Come with us, We'll do you good."...peace.

No I don't think your going to hell just for not going to church.
Most churches are about religion. God and religion are two different things. There is one God but many religions and churches. If you do not go to church you can still be spiritual. In my opinion that is much better.

Will someone pray for me too? Because if I read one more response in which someone says they will pray for the person who wrote this question, just because the person doesn't go to church, I'm going to throw up all of my lunch. And then I'm going to pray that the people who are dumb enough to think someone who doesn't go to church needs to be saved, magically become intelligent.
You know what's funny - that the person who said that Christians believe that you will go to hell if you don't go to church got a bunch of "thumbs downs". Then the person below who said that you don't need attend church - all you have to do is be a good person and treat others as you wish to be treated also got a bunch of "thumbs downs". So it sounds to me like Christians believe that you must go to church if you want to go to heaven (because being a good person isn't enough), but they don't want anyone to call them on it.

No but it's a must, because in this place where you can learn more about your Savior, the Bible says
Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of, the LORD, that will I seek after;that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple....
Psalm 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere., I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
You need to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior (Acts 4:12 "Theres no salvation by anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved." only the name of Jesus), and asked forgiveness to all of your sins (1John1:9 ..confess your sin and He is faithful and just to forgive you)

This is what Christians (Protestants) generally believe in: unlike Catholics, who believe in holy sacraments (things you have to do in order to go to heaven), it is believed that one must only believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again and ask him to forgive us of our sins. This is all we need in order to go to heaven. Christians will teach that it is by our faith and not deeds that we will go to heaven. There's nothing we can do to "earn" our way there - and that includes going to church.
On the other hand, once you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit will change the way we think and perceive things. We'll have a different perspective in that we'll desire the things that will help us to grow spiritually such as spending time to read the Bible and pray, or go to church - basically, to develop a relationship with God. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

I don't think that it means you're a bad person unless you allow it to make you into a bad person. I believe that the whole point of any religion is the fact that it's a personal choice which you make to believe in something.
From my life experience, it seems that the Baptists are the only one's who are vehemently telling the believers in other faiths that they are the ones which are going to hell.
Religion or belief in God, the Creator, the Cosmos, Buddah, Shiva, Vishnu, The Way, Tao, or whatever you want to believe in is your choice and no one can really take that away from you. It's a personal thing, for anyone to condemn another person on the basis of their beliefs is foolish and counter-productive to having a peaceful world where everyone is happy.

Emily Dickenson once wrote:
Some keep the Sabbath going to Church --
I keep it, staying at Home --
With a Bobolink for a Chorister --
And an Orchard, for a Dome --
Some keep the Sabbath in Surplice --
I just wear my Wings --
And instead of tolling the Bell, for Church,
Our little Sexton -- sings.
God preaches, a noted Clergyman --
And the sermon is never long,
So instead of getting to Heaven, at least --
I'm going, all along.
It is your faith in yourself, your spirituality, and humanity that matters, church does not make you good or bad, YOU and your actions do.
