We were married in a register office and later, having both become Christians we took our vows in church. This was more because I wanted it than my husband. I regretted that I hadn't had a church wedding and we had been through some difficult patches, almost splitting up. Since then we have had many ups and downs, but we've stuck by our vows. Somehow having made them in church before God made them more important. Now, when we go through difficulties I pray for the strength to continue and the love needed to go on. Next year we will have been married for 30 years.
Like a previous answer, I would suggest that you ask your hubby why he wants to renew the vows. And I would also suggest that you only do so if you really mean it.

Well,
I am catholic. In the church, renewing vows can take place all the time, if you wanted to, you could do it everyday if the priest had that much time. Renewing vows is a good idea to me. It doesn't neccessarly meen anything is bad, it just gives you a good sense of more security and to start fresh again like the first day you got the vows placed (the wedding day). Renewing vows is a good idea. Hope this helps.

He's asked whether he can renew vows because he has done something wrong and wants to make himself feel better.
Tell him that before you will consider renewing your vows you want him to get everything he needs to, off his chest so you start your 'new' continued marriage afresh.
Tell him it will be ok after his confession, you just want to be sure that your renewed marriage starts on the right footing.
As soon as he tells you then hit the roof and decide whether you want to stay married to him at all.
If you don't want to know any secret he may have, just say yes and renew your vows. I hear that it is nearly as lovely as the first time round.

I just held a ceremony for a couple who were married for 50 years it was wonderful all The children and all the grandchildren were there and a lot of friends. They kissed like teenagers after the vows it was the sweetest thing, I was honored to do it, it was wonderful for them and all the people there. I would say if you husband is that wonderful to ask, go for it this will keep your marriage alive.
God Bless

No, we haven't. It depends on how long you've been married....If it's been like 25 or 50 years and you want to do it on your anniversary, then that's cool and kind of sweet. Otherwise, you're attention whores.
