Elevated WBCs usually indicate an infection. Since we can't just randomly check our own blood counts, I assume you're already seeing a doctor? Three times the "normal" number of WBCs can be an indicator of much more than just an infection.

Elevated numbers of lymphocytes (white blood cells) could be due to an infection in the body, as white blood cells fight off antigens (foreign invaders) within the body.

Infection or leukemia. A 'leukemoid reaction' also occurs when ther is hemolysis, or excessive destruction of red blood cells, when the bone marrow becomes very active.

High WBC means infection. A doctor needs to figure out what is causing the infection, soon, so it can be treated.
