You are on the right track (sorry about that pun) with your ideas of running and stair climbing to get you back into shape. I think those are a good idea.
Situps will build your abs up and tuck them in, but will NOT get rid of the layer of fat above.
To get rid of fat you have to do aerobic activity, like that running and stair climbing. Now, remember that some people absolutely, genetically, CANNOT get rid of that layer of fat (more of these unfortunate folks are males, and I'm one of them... grr).
And yeah your current eating habits I think are a problem (as are mine, hehe). Does your school offer anything healthier than pizza? Otherwise you can pack up your own quick lunch and take it with you. I have tons of ideas that I'm not going to go into here, you can message me about it whether or not you think my answer's the best.
I have learned a love of cooking (mostly from my parents, who are both hobbyist chefs) and I extended it to making quick, cold meals that are also healthy. I work full-time and am a half-time student taking difficult math classes, so I am short on well, time...
Lastly, I hope people here don't blast you just b/c you want to get in shape. You want to exercise and eat right, and that is something not a lot of us younger people do. When I was your age (9 years ago, damn I'm old, hehe) I didn't care at all about being in shape. That's why I never had much energy back then, and I think I missed out on a lot of adolescence because of that. (I also have a hormonal issue with my thyroid, and not exercising was def. working against the effects of that disease!)
I didn't get in shape until I was 21... and I did it by some pretty intense bicycling (I bought a road bike and covered 2,500 miles in about 5 months). I don't recommend you do something that intense, that can actually hurt your immune system.
But yeah, like it always is, be sensible and you'll get whatever rewards you're looking for.

You should really do weight training. Don't worry, you won't get bulky muscles - girls can't get those unless you use steroids (don't use steroids!!!). Muscles need a lot of energy, so even when you're sitting down, they burn fat. That's good...right? XD Just kidding. Do crunches, say, in front of the T.V. so you won't get too bored. XD Yes, you should run/jog a mile on track. And the stair thing is good, too. Just don't strain yourself. Drink a lot of water when you're exercising. Don't do 100 sit-ups if you can't. You'll just hurt yourself. See how many you can do in, say, 5 minutes. Then every day, try to get at least 5 more in. It won't take long to build some muscle there. Eat HEALTHY foods. Cereal is good, but if you get hungry really easily before lunch, try adding a piece of fruit or something. Pizza isn't that bad, but fruits, vegetables, lean protein is healthier. If you are really dedicated and do decide to do weight training, then you should definitely eat more, since your muscles will use up more energy! If you're worried you eat too much, then have a glass of water before your meals - it'll fill up your stomach so you don't eat more than you should. Hope it helps! Good luck!

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. See site below. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water.
Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat. Take 5 minutes to read teen advice, then click on home page.

i know exactly how you feel!!!!! i'm 5'4 and 115 everyone says i'm skinny and i'm like i didnt say i wasnt but i still have love handles and a big butt!!!!
anyways. just snack in small meals throughout the day, and try to eat healthier foods. Drink tons of water, and do you like dancing? and running stairs and track are good. All exercises are good, sit ups good too. You cant take fat from certain areas, you have to lose fat from your whole body -- i mean you cant "spot reduce." it takes a while but i'm starting to see some results. like today its real rainy so i did like 250 crunches, a bunch of leg lifts, back stuff, pushups, squats, and i danced for a half hour. Make stuff up and half fun! you dont have to follow a set pattern for exercise!! I usually run every other day , and i lift weight sometimes. I just try to keep everything real varied... But yeah try to eat healthier foods....
hope this helped some, good luck!!

Run and lift weights. Muscle cells burn 3 times as many calories as fat cells do, so pumping a little iron will make u loose serious poundage. Make sure you eat enough to get you through the workouts and the running. Stay away from fatty foods like pizza and junk. Do sit ups, also. You should be good from there.

Yes, start with the diet. You know yourself that it is loaded with fats and sugars. Eating well DOES NOT mean going hungry. You can actually eat a lot more than you are now. Lean meat, chicken, steamed vegetables, salads. At 14, there is no reason why you cannot start cooking for yourself.
Add some toning excercises, and things should tigten up nicely.

cut back on the carbs. start with sugar, flour and pasta. then learn which fats are healthy and cut out unhealthy fats. there is some good information on oprah.com.
Another suggestion for you is take a day, like sunday, to plan and prepare foods so you don't eat fast food so much, that food generally loads up the calories and you end up eating more snacks later.

I believe i understand what you're getting at. See, my mates and i when we go out, we see chicks wearing tight jeans and think, 'did you seriously look in the mirror b4 u left your joint?'. Honestly, some chicks have love-handles flapping over cos it's so tight, some wearing it see-through and u think 'wtf are you covering' or wats da bloody point', then you see ones with gstring straps...but i mean when they bend, the jeans fall down half way their asses mate!!! My mates and i r between 20-30yrs and believe me when i say, we know our stuff. And i honestly believe that maybe you think u dont look good in them yourself and that's why u asked this question. U are the one that can see yourself right now in the mirror, none of us here can. So if you see that your tight jeans are on perfectly, no flabbies pouring out, no large amount of gstring being seen when u bend and the overall result shows you in proportion with the rest of your body, then u have no probz. And always remember, a true female will always keep some mystique, that's what attracts the most attention and most of the time, the right attention. cheers
