Tipping is completely out of hand. It is insane. Restaurants waitresses actually perform a service, so it's 15% for excellent service, 10% for adequate, 5% for minimum, 0 for unpleasant, and 20% only for the most exceptional. Always tip on pre-tax bill.
Never tip when you pick up. No service, no tip. Tip a dollar for the pizza guy because he's got to deal with traffic lights. But if anyone in the service industry b*tches and complaines about tips, then they need to get another job. Period.
It's completely unbelievable what people pay out in tips and to whom nowadays. No wonder 80% of Americans can't manage their debt. They're too busy acting like royalty.

For picking up food, I don't. I just feel like they didn't go to that much trouble, why should they get my hard earned money for basically no reason? Now a waiter or waitress works hard, and doesn't get paid a huge amount, so of course I always tip them. Delivery people work hard also, drive around all over town, and don't get paid a lot either. I tip them (even if they charge a dollar or 2 for delivery already) about 10%. 10% I've read is customary. Sometimes if the restaurant is a little far, I tip a bit more. Usually I give about 2-3 dollars for a 20-30 dollar meal.

First you do not tip for take out. Second you tip 20% for delivery. If there is a charge for delivery this is usually because the restaurant offers gas fill ups for their drivers and that charge is paying for that gas. You should still tip them because that is money the driver will not see except in the form gas that they then use to make the deliveries while they are working. If you have a problem with the charge take it up with the restaurant not the deliverer who is just trying to earn a living. Always tip, unless your food is extremely late.

The people that deliver don't make much money. I have never ordered from a place that charges a delivery fee, but they will sometimes have a minimum amount that you have to buy in order for delivery to be free. I always tip the driver.

Never tip at a take out, fast food place. or Tip jars, I guess depending on what they did for you but I don't like to. After all they aren't doing more then what there job already is, and what they are asked to do.
But it is ok to tip at a Restaurant. That is the only place that its been ok to tip from the very beginning before everybody else expected it.
And how much? Now days its 15%-20% depending on how Nice or Spendy the restaurant is. I think 10% is too much to be honest.
And the pizza guy. I guess that too is depending on where you live as well. Most people just give $1.00-$2.00. I guess it just depends on how far they are going from there place to your place. So if its a long journey from the pizza place you can give them $3.00 but if its not a long journey $1.00-$2.00. I think that $3.00 is way to much. And being way to generous. But then again if they are going a long distance because of gas prices $3.00 is the way to give.

You should tip the pizza delivery boy. He probably make min wage and has to use his parents car (over all he losses money when considering the cost of the car). His parents considers this an education for him.
Also there should be a charge for delivery, it is expensive and time consuming to delivery, otherwise why don't you drive and pick it up.
No you should not tip when you pick up take out food.

No, you should not have to tip when you pick up food from a restaurant. That is a good reason to pick it up instead of eating there.
I guess you are suppose to tip the delivery person that brings it to your home, because they do expect it lol. But that part is up to you.

I worked at restaurant and get around $30 tips for take out. Yes you should still tip delivery person even tho there are delivery charge. Those charge does not go to driver. The reason they charged you deliver charge is b/c you are far from where they are. Imagine a delivery driver driving out of their way and they didn't get tip in return.

I tip the Domino's man, however there is not any supply rate. OK, so that you wish a few recommendations. How rapid you wish that pizza added when you order it? You wish to be first on their record or final? I in general tip 2 or 3 greenbacks. Pizza takes 20 mins to prepare dinner, and I get it inside part an hour. Hey, dangerous climate, I tip $five. Guy at the telephone is going "It will take an hour to get there", I pass, yo, is Paul operating there this night. Guy is going yeah. "Tell him Dio simply ordered a pizza" And I get the pizza in half-hour. And Paul will get his five greenbacks. All will depend on the way you appear at it you already know...
