I'd say it's a sign of affection, as opposed to passion. But that doesn't necessarily mean the kisser doesn't have passion for the kissee.

I think a kiss on the forehead means I will respect and love you forever! It has a more spiritual meaning to me than intimate, but be glad to get it.

It is much less intimate.
The situation and the way it is done makes a difference in how to interpret it.
It could be condescending as if a elder was placating a subordinate
OR
It could be loving and adoring if he is gazing at you with a loving smile.

i think it can mean either one because family members kiss you on the forehead but when my boyfriend and i are cuddling and having a nice time he ask if im okay and kiss me on the forehead
