I say you cannot.

The ceramic pot is made to hold cheese or chocolate. Both require even heat to be held by the container. Meat fondue requires much higher temps (to heat up oil to cook the meat in). You need the metal container for meat fondue.

Yes you can. I had a ceramic pot that I used for cheese and meats, although not at the same time! The ceramic and teflon fondue pot, I believe, are just better for chocolat fondue (less likely to stick and burn) . That's what the lady who sold me mine said!
