As long as you use judgment to judge which answers are good and which answers are not, you should be ok?

Sure one must be careful when taking the medical advice of us here on Answers, but remember this. Some qualified medical people can be very dangerous indeed.
Drug Therapy can be bad if it's not carefully prescribed and the effects monitored.
Side effects can often be worse then the disease!
Medical History bears testimony to the damage that has been done to unsuspecting patients by supposedly 'Qualified' Medical people.
There are bad apples in every barrel........

Could be, unless you weigh the advice given, and only TAKE the advice that will not do you harm.

That is, if someone says go to the doctor, that may help. If someone says take pill X, when you really have some serious illness, yes, that's dangerous.

you can ask as many people as you want qualifed or other, whether you take the advice given is up to you. You should always seek professional advice on any serious or medical matter that you have. what affects you in one way will affect someone else in another way, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

People are asking for unqualified advice.
It is totally your responsibility to weigh advice given and make responsible decisions that will affect your life and no one elses.

In the end however its likely that they have received the advice from people on this site that they see an "actual" doctor.

It can be very dangerous, it depends on how much you really listen to what the ppl on here have to say. You should NEVER let this take the place of a real doctor. On the other hand if you an illness that someone else has had they can help you with what to expect from it.

It's perfectly safe to ask any medical advice here but it might be dangerous to follow those advices.

I think you have to make your own judgement on what they say. I ask my mum all the time and she is 99% right. If they have been there and done it/had it before why not take it on board you know what sounds wrong and what doesn't.

Yes indeed - it's always better to ask your GP, or go to a hospital. If you're that unwell, why are you sitting around waiting for answers when you could be on your way to A & E?!

Yes, I do think it is. I always say ask/check with a doctor even if I know the real answer since I work with doctors.
