I wouldn't exactly say something is wrong with children today. What I will say is the way society works today has it so children and parents really don't know for sure where they stand. The diciplining of children is watched over by Childrens Services, school counselors, and the family courts. A parent can so much as raise their voice at their child to diciplin them, and that child can turn around, tell the counselor at school they are being verbally abused then the Child Services worker is brought into things. If a child abuses this system (and they are taught well about it by their schools and counselors) the parents end up in a mess. If a parent can't control a child (because the child abuses these options of abuse reporting) the police and courts can become really involved and parents can go to jail for something as simple as trying to keep a child in line. The parenting rules put forth by the political and legal system today has many parents worried that diciplining their child will get them in hot water, or worse, the child they love and are trying to parent. What to do? See what I mean????
Cheers and happy holidays!

to many things to actually list here, but
but they are not getting the BUTT spanked anymore, why, government said parents can not...
they do not have any consideration for anyone older than they are, they do not honor their own parents never mind their grandparents, and some do not honor themselves.
why, I will tell you why, as more freedoms were added, parents have less parental controls over their children, and some parents just gave up, and now the children of those parents have had children and those children have had children and no one has given them any traditional values, and a lot of children have basically raised themselves ( latch key kids)
and because of many reasons, church has been taken out of everything, and everyone in the country is only out for themselves..PLUS, plus so much more
we all need to do like they did around 1900 ..help each other out no matter who they are..and have respect for each other no matter who you are...if I respect you, then you respect me, them we do it again to two others, in not time we have a lot of respect going around
try it, make it your NEW YEARS resolution, help some people out..
kids respect their parents and family, then the kids WILL get much more respect by everyone too..it is a circle, what goes around comes around... KARMA....
plus all the ignorance and violence on TV and movies and video games. way to much and we all let it happen we do nothing to stop TV shows from having bad language never mind TV shows having sex in them..is a wonder they are not worse off then they are now...

good luck

Lack of common sense parenting. Letting the child be in control and NOT the parent.........who is the parent anyway??? Last I checked, a minor was someone under the age of 18, therefore, you are responsible.
Not following through on their discipline measures (big difference between discipline & abuse), no manners, giving in to their children's demands of I WANT just to quiet them down, kids raising kids. These are only a few things I can think of.

They have too much of everything.
Television is available 24/7,fast food is too readily available,Video games, etc.
They don't have the imagination to do something for themselves, like i did when i was a child.
Everyone blames bad parenting, but when things are so easy to get nowadays is it any wonder children are the way they are.

Same thing that was wrong with children of the last generation, and generations before that: they wish to think for themselves, and have no idea what that means.

I don't think it's the children. I think it's the parents. It's up to us to raise our kids the right way. It is so hard when you have to work and come home to cook and take care of the kids, but they have to come first. When we see a problem, we should address it and not ignore it because it just gets worse. I see so many parents yelling and hitting their kids. It makes me sick. I think to myself, when was the last time they hugged or kissed their kids. Or told them they loved them.

It really has to do with money. Mom and dad have to work extra hard just to provide food, clothes and a home.

Every problem kids have, has to do with a lack of parenting.
