I know that this is a stupid question, but as a non-jewish person I was wondering if there is a difference between Hanukka and Chanukka (other than the C of course), I mean is just a spelling thing or is there a significant differnce?

Not a stupid question at all. I'm Jewish and have celebrated the holiday all my life, and it still took me a while to figure it out.

Here's the deal: the word (however you want to spell it), is, like many other words used in the Jewish religion, translated from Hebrew, which has a different alphabet than English. As such, it can be correctly spelled many different ways (but it means the same thing).

Hope that helps, and a happy whatever-holiday-you-celebrate to you!
