I mean, at the end of her answers, not as just the complete answer. sorry for not being more specific.

I wish I knew who your "friend" is--so I could give an INTELLIGENT opinion. If thumbs down is only on the Merry Yule & Blessed Be, what nonsense. Doesn't take much to get some people's (jeans--) in a snarl. Maybe they'll get carpal tunnel with all those thumbs down. I think those two greetings are great! They're "different" than the usual "Merry Christmas" & "Happy Holidays." Think I'll start using them, too...

Maybe it was the actual answer that got the thumbs down. Or maybe there are just people who go around down thumbing everyone they don't agree with. Tell her to say what's in her heart and that's all that matters. As a Christian, I have never heard of Merry Yule? What is that for? I don't know if I should say it so how about Happy Holidays? Do you think I will get thumbs down now...I'm going to say....

Merry Christmas.

Nope, just a misunderstanding of Wicca. It's PC to say "Happy Holidays," but "Blessed Be" and "Merry Yule" are the Wiccan greetings for "Have a great day" and "Merry Christmas."

Not a war on Yule, just an institutional misunderstanding that Wicca is only important during one holiday.

Merry Yule!

Because generally Christians will associate those phrases with one who is Pagan or Wiccan. To them, because they are not Christian, they are lesser people, and thus deserve thumbs down. It's their way of saying "go to hell"! As for me, I'm a Christian who appreciates the greetings.

Merry Yule to all, and Blessed Be!

I don't even know what "Yule" is, so it's not me doing it.
And besides, I wouldn't do that anyway. As long as what a person says is appropriate and decent, I could care less about thumbs down. I almost always give thumbs up only.

I guess it is simply a matter of misinformation and bigotry. I am a Christian and I say Merry Yule to you and Blessed be as well. I respect your wishes and hope you would tell me Merry Christmas as well. And while I am at it....merry meet, happy hanukkah, happy kwanzaa and merry solstice. We are all human first, religious, spiritual (or neither) creatures second.

I can answer two similar questions with the same answer, but if I simply add I am Pagan on one it will get thumbs down where the other won't (or as many anyway)

There are some people who just don't like Pagans\Wiccans and use the thumbs down to show it.
