A military No-Contact order written direct order from a commanding officer to one of his subordinates. The military no-contact order is similar to a Restraining order in civilian courts. Though under the UCMJ it is punishable, it is not enforceable in civilian courts. Usually a person with a MNCO also will have a restraining order against that same individual. The MNCO usually is issued in harassment or domestic violence cases.

If you are in the military and the order is coming from someone in your chain of command, then yes the order is legal.

It is highly advisable for the person to contact their commander (ASAP) to inform him/her of the no contact order and the situation. This is so the commander is informed and also basically for the commander uphold the decision. If the commander says no, then "no joy".

The commander will have to uphold this decision either verbally or in writing (normally the next duty day). to the individual.

The commander of the member is ultimately responsible for the decisions made in his/her unit. He/she will consult legal to make certain he/she is within their rights and basically nothing will bite them in the butt later.

Oh and if any officer in your chain gives the order; I guarantee it will carry a lot more weight if you disobey before the commander makes the final decision.

To disobey this command can lead to very severe consequences for the individual. A members best bet is to obey and then contact their Area Defense Counselor for advice.

Yes it is legal and yes it needs to be upheld. As a Police Officer, I can affirm that our State reckognizes military restraining orders to be valid whether on base or off

Yes it is a lawful order. And yes the chain of command must enforce it.

There are times when we simply cannot afford to have our female soldiers get pregnant. And in order to be 'fair' we have to apply the order to both sexes.

It sucks - but there is no really good way to deal with this.

Best advice if you are in the military and it invovles you and not contacting someone else then yeah its best to uphold it because it will get you into serious trouble if you don't follow it.

IF you aren't in the military and you want to do it then I don't know go for it?

military orders only have two applications 1. on military property 2. if you are a military member

if either of these apply then you should obey ( unless you like jail ) if not it is up to you
