My first suggestion is to take him to an eye specialist. The itching may be due to vitamin deficiency. If someone keeps on reading or watching Tv or working in a monitor for a long time without break,u they will have dark circles. To get rid of that ,cut the cucumber into circles ,close the eyes and keep it on it for 30min .Wash the eyes frequently with cold water.Good luck

ITCHY RED EYES ARE A COMMON PROBLEM. THE RED EYE IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON COMPLAINTS THAT AN EYE SPECIALIST WILL SEE, AS IS AN ITCHY EYE. STICK THE TWO TOGETHER, AND THAT REALLY LIMITS THE DIAGNOSES.

ITCHINESS IN THE EYES IS MOST FREQUENTLY CAUSED BY THE IMMUNE TISSUE IN THE CONJUNCTIVA BEING STIMULATED EITHER BY AN INFECTING ORGANISM, OR BY AN ALLERGEN. THE TISSUE SWELLS AND IRRITATES THE SURFACE OF THE EYE BALL. THAT SAID, THE CAUSE OF AN ITCHY EYE MAY ALSO BE DUE TO DEFICIENCY IN THE ABILITY OF THE EYE TO MAKE GOOD-QUALITY TEARS, AND THIS CAUSES THE CONJUNCTIVA TO 'SCRATCH' ALONG THE SURFACE OF THE EYE BALL.

IN ESSENCE, I'D ADVISE SEEING AN EYE SPECIALIST RATHER THAN A PEDIATRICIAN AS HIS EYES WILL NEED EXAMINING VERY THOROUGHLY WITH A SLIT LAMP, NOT JUST THE AVERAGE EQUIPMENT A GP HAS. AND IT MAY BE WORTH IN THE MEANTIME, TRYING A TOPICAL ANTI-HISTAMINE EYE DROP.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

place whetted orange peroke tea bags on them may help some for now .. but i am thinking allergy's.. Same thing happens to my son if he comes in contact with small rodents including rabbits.. Take to a DR. for testing.. I knew he had an allergy to rabbits but not hamsters.. he touched one of them and poof swollen eyes. well after he rubed them..

Oh i forgot to mention the tea bags will kind make his eyes look worsebut that is the orange in the tea.. but great or swelling and itch.

You should go to the doctor but I always use Opcon-A eye drops (Itching and Redness Reliever) As far as dark circles I am not sure. I was told to lie down and place warm teabag on your eyes and let it sit for a while. I believe it was green tea that your supposed to use. I hope that helps and good luck.

It could be allergies, even though you don't see him in contact with anything that you think he may have allergies to. A lot of children have allergies and not even know it. And allergies normally flare up, without you knowing the cause.

These are clear symptoms of allergies.

My sons ears became flaming red when he ate sugar, of course he was off the wall rambunctious also.

Try removing the following: All dairy, wheat, yeast and sugars. These are strong allergic foods. Leave him off them for a week and add one back for a week, then another the next week and the last the next week. If it is any one of the most common items, this should identify it.

Nuts are bad too.

Good Luck.

There could be numerous allergies your son has. If you have pets, he could have a fur allergy. He could also have an allergy to detergent you use, or he could have an infection of some sort. I would take him to see the doctor as I'm no expert ;)

It sounds like seasonal allergies. I get like that sometimes, it is very anoing. You should take him to the doctor they will give him meds or eye drops that will help him out.

"Eyes can also become swollen when rubbed with fingers that have come in contact with an allergen. Inhalent allergies can cause watery, itchy, or swollen eyes. "
