www.anysoldier.com Great site to adopt a soldier, a squad or a unit. You can pick a male or female soldier to send items too. Even if soldiers do have family back home, they can alway use more stuff. Cookies are good to send to the troops.

Here's a list of items the troops might enjoy.

Microwave popcorn
beef jerky
trail mix in individual sizes.
canned food (vienna sausages)
candy, fudge, peanut brittle
packets of kool-aid

Playing cards
hand held video games
magazines (no porn)
books
writing paper, envelopes, stamps, pens, pencils
phone cards
cross word puzzle books, sudoku
waterless hand sanitizer
wet wipes
deodorant
shampoo
lotions
baby powder
feminine hygine products(for females, pads, tampons, feminine wash)
socks
long johns
dvd's
dvd player

Things you cannot send:

Tobacco products (cigarettes, or chew)
porn (magazine, pictures etc)
Any kind of liquor

If you're looking to invite to your house for christmas dinner or something like that. All basses have a single sailor or soldier program established by the MWR department. Also there are former military in VA hospitals that wouldn't mind a kind person to spend a little time with. There are many single ill former military in VA hospitals. Check into volunteer programs at the VA hospitals.

Go to americasupportsyou.com and they should be a great help I know that because i just got back from back to back 6 and 7 months deployments and they were always send care packages

Contact your local military base and they have lists for that. We have had several single airmen for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner and it was great for them and for us.

Call your local base there is usually one around, if not call your V.F.W or Red Cross.
