we got a new kitten over the summer named ella. smokey became really awnry and now she runs away often. we wont see her for days or even weeks and then she will come back starving, she'll eat and then run away again.... is this normal?

For a cat yes. Cats are one of the mysteries of the world, like where does all the stuff go that I put in the junk drawer.

poor kitty. i think you should just keep some food outside so that it will come back. ummm... i think it might be best to just keep it inside. i think the other cat will get used to it eventually. my friend got a baby kitten even tho she already had two cats, a boy and a girl and they didnt like the kitten at first but now they love her.

When my eighteen year old cat died my other two started acting strange. It didn't last that long but they were just grieving. Animals grieve. You may need to fix your cat that runs off. Fixing them makes them stay around the property more.

She misses her old friend and is probably annoyed that this new kitten has been "forced" on her.

Keep her inside. She needs safety as well as nurturing and she also needs time to adjust to her new roommate.

Be patient, but don't let her out.

they all have different catnalities

maybe just get another one

if that one is away with his girlfriend or whatever, you have 1.3 cats
