Event tickets are always fun gifts. If you buy two, he is practically obligated to take you. Concerts, college basketball games or anything else he might be interested in works well. If you're on a smaller budget, try putting together a gift basket or something of inside jokes or sentimental items. I've done both, and they always produce smiles and fun memories.

Well that all depends on his likes and dislikes. Does he like to play PS2 or any other gaming systems? New games are always fun. Or pajamas. Or cologne. Just whatever he is in to. Ask him to give you a list and just pick from that what you want to buy him.

What does he like to do for fun? Hobbies etc. Give him something he doesn't have, but might have looked at for a while at a store or catalogue. Hope this helps.

take him out on a special date on christmas let him pick the restuarant and activities afterwards this is a no fail present for any guy!!! (hey its better than a gift card)

a really nice watch from Belk or something.. you can find like a Nautica one for under 100. and its something that will last. Or a namebrand wallet, they are usually on sale too.
