If you started a relationship while you were his patient then yes, but if questions were ever asked you could always say that the relationship started after you had finished being his patient.

I've heard it's unethical.
But what's so unethical about it? Does a doctor not have a right to fall in love? Or get into a relationship? And if the "right" person happens to be his/her patient, then what's so wrong about it?
I don't see what's the big issue. Can someone give a real convincing answer?

for you, there is absolutely no risk.

For the doctor, there is plenty of risk. It is really his call. The problem occurs when the doctor wants to break off the relationship, but the former patient does not, which can lead to possible false allegations and complaints against the medical board. The medical board does not look too kindly upon doctors who "prey" upon their patients.

There would have to be a significant lapse of time between your last consultation with him and when you start dating. Otherwise, your dating might be construed as a doctor violating patient trust.

Very unethical yes. But I think it would depend on the circumstances as to whether or not he got struck off.

Whatever, that's free touch ups. Go for it, but during the date if he keeps marking different parts of your body you may want to find a new surgeon/boyfriend.

I would think that any doctor who had treated you would be bound by his ethics to stay away from any personal relationship. Having said that, if you both have the hots for each other then let nature take its course.

You all are crazy. It's not unethical. It's not like he's her shrink or something. Go ahead and date him baby.

If he has done surgery on you and will never see you again in a professional sense again, then I don't see what the problem is.
