That's so cute, how you tried to be clever and make non-christians out to be evil, uncharitable, uncaring people.... Maybe if you had spelled charity correctly throughout your "question" it might have helped. I'll have you know I give generously to charities of all kinds - Catholic Charities, The Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House, The United Way, PBS, The Red Cross, and March of Dimes are on my yearly donation list. Toys for Tots and Coats for Kids at Christmastime. I gave blood last week. Look - just because we don't share your god delusion doesn't make us uncaring about our fellow man. I volunteer my time, too. Why don't you go ahead and list all your charitable activities before throwing stones, hm? Calling yourself a christian doesn't give you exclusive rights to be charitable - it appears, however, it gives some people the right to feel wrongly superior.

I don't know about atheist charities in particular - ones that are created in the spirit of atheism - but there are plenty of secular ones. I recommend Medicines Sans Frontiers, or Doctors Without Borders. They send volunteer medical doctors into war-torn countries, or places that have been hit by famine, disease, or natural disasters, and provide food, clean water, vaccinations, and free health care and medical treatment. It's a fantastic organization, and they need all the support they can get.

Atheism is not a religion or a cult that sets out to give funds in exchange for acceptance or promotion of their "faith." But in one sense, any charity that DOESN'T ask for funds under the guise of religious fervor, or sponsorship of some God, is an atheist (as in non-theist) charity.
Your implication that atheists aren't charitable has no basis in fact.

the first such charities were of course founded by Chrstians
but there are secular ones now
Planned PArenthood... well they dont do much for adopting children.. but they help reduce the surplus popuulation wait
isnt that what Ebineezer Scrooge said...reduce the surplus population...?
ALthough Bill GAtes does tend to promote population control, I think he also helps with nourishment programs in the third world for mothers... and does do some good things
often liberal groups are great at using OPM (other peoples money) but there are commendable works by secular charities

There aren't any atheist charities, that I know of. But there are plenty of charities out there not affiliated with churches.
American Red Cross
Community Food banks
You could probably google local chairities in your area.

Atheists don't have institutions like religionists because we don't need to constantly gather to re-enforce, like religionists, their deeply held misconceptions. For that reason, there are no Atheist run charities. Atheists are however, just as altruistic as superstitionists, but not because some god says we have to be.
