well i have been eating fruits, veggies, legumes, meats, and good whole grain cereals and lots of water absolutely no sugared drinks mainly because i don't like them, for the past 2 weeks and i lost 8lbs. Even though I'm not a celebrant of Christmas all you need to do is be dedicated and stick to a good eating plan and it cannot be done with at least 3-4 days of exercise for about an hour per week. Do it in the morning before work and find something you enjoy doing, trust me it will work.

1. Sugar!!!! Completely cut it from your life, anything with added sugar in it. This does not include fruit, as some people would have you believe.
2. Fats!! Stay away from fatty meats, cheeses, and packaged foods.
Ummm, I ran out of things. I will just tell you what I would do if I wanted to lose 10 pounds quickly (and honestly, 10 pounds by Christmas might not be realistic, but 5-7 might be).
Breakfast- Organic raisin bran with skim milk or almond milk- bran gives you fiber, which makes you go more often, which helps you lose weight. Vary this with fruit for breakfast.
Lunch- a salad with lots of spinach, other veggies and some beans like chick peas or black beans for protein, and very little dressing! You would be best off using salt & pepper with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
You can vary this will low-fat, low-cal choices like a small soup.
Dinner- a small serving of baked fish, lots of steamed veggies, maybe a little bit of rice. Don't eat any other meat because they are all too high-fat, high-cal. You can vary this with anything else that is balanced and low-fat and low-cal.
You can snack sparingly throughout the day on fruit, and maybe fat free cottage cheese.
NOW... you must work out, and work out a lot to lose that weight! Join a gym that has lots of fun classes and go to one to two of them a day. Make sure you are doing lots of cardio (sweating) and also lots of sculpting with weights or using your body as resistance. Work out 6 days a week to meet your goal, and have fun!

It's actually better to exercise more and when you eat understand which foods you should eat in moderation, but don't deprive yourself if you are craving it. When you completely restrict foods, especially foods you may want, it only leads to a binge when you finally get to have it. Exercise isn't just for weight loss, it's also good for your heart and keeps you at a lower risk for tons of diseases, conditions and disorders. Once you start exercising you will find that you feel better and WANT to exercise more. Good luck!!!

"Junk food," cookies, fast food, sugared drinks, candy, etc. Drink lots of water eat plenty of veggies, fruits, meats etc. and exercise. You really should have started sooner because a general rule of thumb is to lose no more than 2 pounds a week.

Honestly, 10lbs is an unrealistic and unhealthy goal since we are close to xmas already. With exercise and eating right, 5lbs is a good goal. But that wasn't your question.. Foods to avoid- white bread, chocolate, fried foods, most fast food, regular soda.
