Why leave Iraq?

think about it either our combat trained military can die killing terrorists over there or our citizens can b killed by terrorists here. wwith our troops in iraq the terrorists r more worried about defending themselves than attacking america. personally im enlisting in the usmc the day of my 18th birthday so i can help keep our citizens safe and if i die i die but im taking some terrorists with me

We would be out of Iraq quicker If.....
1: The politicians give command it's head and don't keep reigning them in.
2: The politicians remember the lessons learned in Vietnam, Grenada and the first Iraq war.
3: The soldiers had a chance to be soldiers and not police.
Why leave Iraq.
The entire civilization of the middle east is not what we understand as civilization. We are the Idealists and the interlopers. Our way of life does not fit their way of life.
We as people do not understand the extreme religious and ethnic differences that are the way of life for the many different tribes that live in the middle east.
The Iraqi people have governed themselves through Islam The clerics hold the power. There is no room in the mind of the Iraqi for our type of free form thinking. They live in a whole different world.
When you turn 18 and join the Marines have no doubt that my best wishes go with you.

There's no way to prove that attacks on American soil are being prevented simply because we're making American citizens easy targets for them over in Iraq. The attack on 9/11 took years to plan, right? So who's to say there aren't plans out there to attack the U.S. soil again?

Terrorism is a hydra: for every terrorist we kill, two more will pop up in their place. We can't win simply by killing more terrorists. We have to get serious about establishing peace, both in Iraq and in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, if we ever want stability over there & safety for Americans here.

I wish you the best of luck and safety in Iraq & hope you know that many of us who oppose this war still support the troops and pray for your safety & prompt return every day.

have attacked us here on american soil. it has never happend. especially Iran, they hate us, but they do not attack us. why factual information suggests that a government created without US support would just creat terrorists to attack us.

NEWS FLASH.....those people are in a 3rd world status, they don't sit around hateing us all day, they try and survive everyday, they don't have good electericty or running water, there country has been on and off war since 1980. they probably want peace, wouldn't you after 30 years of violence.
look at the motives to harvest terrorism. i know they willcontinue to attack all western influence in there country until they leave, but i think that's becuase they balme most of the 30 year conflict on the west. Saddam is apart of that, he used to have meetings with rumsfeld in the iraq iran war.
the only people to attack us where a small sect of mostly Saudies on 9/11. however look at domestic gun deaths in this country, how many people die domestically becuase of crime, are you more affraid of being mugged by a crack head or being bombed by a iraqi?

1. Good luck with your time in the military. I am a retiree after 20 years.

2. The reason why is much the same as Vietnam. You really don't know who your enemy is, they blend in so easily, plus they are terrorizing their own countrymen into not telling.

3. They aren't worried about us. They are using old fashioned Guerilla tactics. And as we change our tactics, they change also. Basically they are 1 step ahead of us.

4. If you go be careful. You will probably have insurgents as part of your civilian workforce in your base camp. It will be up to you and your mates to try and finger them before your camp gets mauled.

5. You have never been to war. Even your Drill instructors will tell ya. It is a very scary feeling when you are out there. All of us have been scared. You will have to learn to overcome that feeling in order to be successful.
