K, my cat is 2 years old and is male. There's this black cat thats in the alleys and always wants to pick a fight with him. sometimes i dont know what they are doing. They go hiding under the porch and stay silent sometimes. :S.

Anyways, my cat was inside staring at the black cat outside through the patio window meowing menacingly. I try pulling him away and he hisses at me. Then i open the patio window to throw an apple at the black cat to stay away from our yard, and my cat tries going outside, but i close the window. I pour milk and cat food into his bowl, but still he still doesnt budge from the patio?

Your kitty is just guarding his territory. When he sees an intruder in his vicinity, he wants to show who's the boss. The reason why he is hissing at you maybe because he is agitated by the black cat and just cranky.

Instead of moving the cat, try closing the widow blinds or pinning a sheet over the window, so your cat can't see out. He can't be fussy over something he can't see.

I also fully with 'Tygirljojo's answer. Neutering your cat will keep this hissy fight down.

LOL! You don't know much about "pure-bread" cats first it is spelled breed or bred. Long furred monster?? normal egyptian cat? There are several breeds that are a natural breed and have long, medium and short fur. I haven't met a long furred monster cat coming from any breeder. Unless it is a bad breeder. The Maine Coon is a natural breed from the United States. Originated the state of Maine. Read up on the breed. And with a "Pure-Bread" cat you do know what to expect in health and temperament and of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. With a "normal cat" you don't know its background what is in the family lines, what genetic defaults, health issues are. Now stating that kittens from the same litter can grow up differently just as any brother and sister they will not all be the same. Genetics plays a big part in that. I can't understand why people call others names just because they have different opinions. No two people think, look or act alike and all should be respected for their likes and opinions even if they are not what you believe in. R P Cat Maine Coons YEP One of those "Pure-Breads" LOL

The other cat might be a female and be in heat or the cat might be a male and there is a female in heat near by and they want to fight over here either way give it a month and the cat will most likely be gone.

It is normal behavior, cats are very territorial and they don't take kindly to other cats being in their territory. Your cat is trying to let the other cat know that he is the boss of his territory.

I have nine cats and have always had cats all my life. My own cats are tolerant of each other and affectionate even with each other, but god forbid a strange cat comes into our yard. They will do their best to scare it off, sometimes even getting into a cat fight.

This is normal. My Cat is almost 2 years old and we have a lot of neighborhood cats that come around. She is glued to the window. They're trying to protect their area, their domain. When another cat enters into their secure area they get angry and want to fight. So it's normal.

Cats naturally very territorial, especially if they're not fixed. If you haven't neutered your cat, it may be a good option as it does keep them from getting very agressive and helps keep the cat population down (feral and domestic). Plus neutering a male cat is cheaper than spaying and keeps them from getting into their "moods." If your cat is fixed, just leave him (but keep him inside for now) and he'll get hungry soon enough and tire of the staring contest.

Your cat is protecting his turf. The other cat is taunting him to come out so they can determine who is the boss. If you let your cat out he will get in a fight with the alley cat.
