How do you supplement your religion? Do you live in a community that has other buddhists, and a temple? I find it hard to take the plunge into buddhism where I have no support system. I am atheist. I don't really consider buddhism a religion, so I could be both. I believe the things buddhists believe. but i don't call myself one, because I am not really practicing it.

I am also an atheist and I really like the philosophy of Buddhism. I used to go to a Unitarian Universalist church because they also welcome atheists/agnostics/humanists and they had a few Buddhists who went there and met regularly independently as well. You could check if there is a Unitarian Universalist church in your area and ask if they have a Buddhist group. Also, check if there is a Buddhist meditation center, in some communities Buddhists get together for meditation.
