I find it interesting how we define a "life" in America. In America we tend to define a life as the person with the most rat races, most responsibilities, little disposable income and free time. While people who avoid unwanted responsibilities, have lots of disposable income, free-time and live life to his or her own accord we in turn tell those people to "get a life". You go to places like Canada and Europe and they define a life over there as someone who lives life to their own accord and have lots of free-time and disposable income. While once again here in America we tell those people to.....you guessed it.....get a life. I think here in America we get upset and jealous of people who avoid the status quo and still get ahead with half the effort. If so do we as Americans get upset by people who get ahead with no responsibilites (little to no kids, little debt, lots of free-time etc) and tell these people to get a life? Also, how do you define a life?

Life is being happy with what you have. Life is NOT being unhappy with what you don't have. thats why some people waste there whole life looking for the next big thing. Its true that every man dies but not every man really lives.

Everyone has a life. Maybe just not what they want. Right now I have no children, no debts, own two homes (very modest home and a cabin). I am not where I want to be. I really want to live near my children but they are all scattered over the US. I would like to be close to my children and share time with them. I do not get upset with people who get ahead or have more. mainly because everything has its price and the few people I have envied have some major problems. Right now I have a lot of time for my hobies and to travel and just enjoy life. That is my life.

In the phrase "Get a Life" I would define life as having some sort of fun and/or hobbies with some friends and/or family aside from all of the responsibilities and stuff that we have to do in life. It does mean in some cases grow up, but it doesn't mean grow up and dont have any fun. I dont know though, this is a tough question.

Having "a life" can only be defined by the person living that life. Once you know what you want outside of other's expectations you have "a life".

Having a life means to have harmony and balance. It means to do something in your life you really enjoy, to have real friends, to be in touch with your family and have a possibility to spend holidays with your folks, to have someone special by your side, and in general to be a worthy person.
