Many of the Prophesies concerning the return of Jesus, had not come to pass 30 years ago.
For thousands of years, people never would have expected cars to exist. 50 years they didnt have television, 20 years ago, the internet was a dream.
In the past 10 years, we have increased our knowledge ( Da 12:4 - Show Context
But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end. Many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase." )
The internet has brought this about. Look up anything you want and will find it.
(Rev. 11:9 And for three and a half days, all peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will come to stare at their bodies. No one will be allowed to bury them. )
Satilite television makes this on possible.
There is much that was not possible in the past that is now.
Just open your eyes and see it.
God bless

People should not say when Jesus is coming- you are right because NO ONE KNOWS. BUT I do know He is coming! But I would never say He is coming at a certain time- the only thing we do know is looking around at what is going on in the world-signs of the times...seems like it is getting nearer but nobody knows!
Matthew 24:36
[ No One Knows That Day and Hour ] "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

One answer I read to your question stated that "soon" is with an eternal perspective. This is true. To us, soon may mean 5 years whereas to God, soon could be 500 years. The bottom line is that every day that passes is one day closer to that fulfilled prophecy.
But based on the signs of the times, I would say very soon to our perspective. One prophecy that was given that would be a sign of Christ's soon return is that people would be, like you, questioning His return and calling it a bunch of nonsense. So my friend, you're helping to fulfill prophecy.

Jesus has been coming soon from the moment he said he would be coming back. The apostles thought it would be during their lifetime, the generation next thought it would be during their lifetime, and so on.

I want to create a bumper sticker that says "Jesus will arrive tomorrow" and no mater what day you read it, it will always say tomorrow, so it could never be wrong.

Jeremiah 23:16
This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
