No. I got what you got. I felt like a truck ran me over a while back. It really stinks.
I heard it takes about 2 weeks to recover. I suspect that maybe you picked up another bug on the way to recovering from the other one.
If it's truly the flu, it's viral, so there is nothing you can do except to ride it out. Don't take antibiotics because it won't help. Get lots of rest. Drink plenty of fluids. You should drink so much water/tea/juice that you are constantly going to the bathroom. If you're not peeing all of the time, you should drink more fluids. This flushes out your system.
Go get some "Airborne" dietary supplements. They work great for me. Take lots of vitamin C. Get a humidifier and place it next to you at all times.

Take Zycan (bought over the counter at drug stores), zinc tabs and drink as much water and juice as possible. Sleep is also very key in shaking viruses. If you are not likely to sleep for more than 6 hrs a night, take a sleeping aid for 1-2 days and try to get 10-12 hours of sleep. YES... Your Doctor could be wrong as mine has many times, but don't jump the gun. Try the basic home remedies + rest and eliminate every bit of stress you can in your life.
Are you allergic to Flu Shots? If not, I recommend them, but it's too late to help now, so the best thing is to try everything you can to get over it. Tylenol taken too often is toxic to the liver, so go for Motrin instead for body aches. Do you have any tenderness in your abdomen? Yellowish tint to your skin or the whites of your eyes? (IF so, go directly to the Doc). Otherwise, have you recently stopped a medication? People can and will go through withdrawals from several different kinds of meds, not just the typical ones that come to mind like pain killers. Anti depressents, anti-anxiety, and a slew of others, including OTC meds can mimick flu symptoms to the "T". Feel Better!

If you tested positive for the flu then you have the flu. However, that doesn't mean you don't have something else going on, too. I assume your doc prescribed Tamiflu? I had the flu for 3 weeks last Jan and it was painful. Fever, aches, pains, chills, nausea and a general feeling that I was either dying or already dead. A word of advise: Go easy on the Advil. Prolonged use will cause blood in the urine and can lead to other health problems. I feel your pain and wish you a speedy recovery.

no the flu can last for up to 2 weeks...but if last any longer than that then you should go back to your physician or get a second opinion! I'm sure you've heard this before but the key to getting past the Flu is plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids!
oh and yeah the above guy was right get some Airborne...it really helps me get better faster when I am ill

YOU CAN DEFINITELY HAVE A BUG THATS HOLDING ON. IT WAS ALL ON THE NEWS HOW THIS LAST FLU HAS BEEN COMING ALONG AND TAKES A GOOD WHILE TO LEAVE. SOMETIMES IT SEEMS THAT IT IS LEAVING BUT IT PICKS RIGHT BACK UP. I ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH THIS A FEW MONTHS AGO. IT TOOK A GOOD TWO MONTHS TO GET ALL THE WAY BACK ON TRACK. WHAT I DID WAS THERA-FLU, HOT LEMON TEA W/HONEY AND PLENTY OF FLUIDS AND SOUP. HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER.

If you don't start getting better soon, you should go back to the doc. Mine started as the flu, then went to bronchitis, then to a severe upper respiratory infection, then to full blown pneumonia. Does it feel like your lungs are caving in when you breathe?? Mine did. It hurts sooo bad. Good Luck.

MDs have no cure for flus or the common cold. See this article below for the fastest way to get over it, and why the flu season is during the cold weather and what colds have to do with the cold weather.
