I want to surprise my girlfriend with a candy she remembers from a few years back, but I can't find it, and this is all she remembers about it!

I must have worded the original question too ambiguously. This particular candy is either a piece of chocolate dipped in caramel or a roll of caramel that is then filled with chocolate.

caramello is one yummy caramel/chocolate candy! But it's caramel covered in chocolate.

TURTLES = chocolate covered caramel and nuts. (American traditional standard - Christmas boxed.) Many makers/price ranges. Best to me is Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (on-line or in malls). Their English Toffee Apple is heaven.
