We've never done a stocking for any of the cats we've owned, and rarely do presents either (bad parents!). Over the years the cats have been thrilled with the tree, the wrapped presents, and the paper, ribbons and boxes on Christmas day. Several have loved sleeping under the tree and drinking water from the tree stand (we always have real trees, and never use chemicals in the water). Being cats they probably think it's all for their benefit anyway. We have had balls batted off the tree, but I think only one time was the tree ever knocked down by a cat. We have occasionally gotten catnip, and last year we got a tunnel toy (a crawl in thing) for our current cat. I think we are getting soft in our old age, now that we are empty nesters, so we may end up spoiling our current cat more than we did the ones we had when our kids were at home. I confess that I was looking at cat toys and furniture at Pet Quarters this past week. Maybe a bed . . . .

I am unable to have any children as i have serious health probs. i have to cats and at Christmas my husband and myself always give them a present and we do the same on their birthday. Not only that we also buy presents from the cats at Christmas to each other. (I think it could be a sneaky way to give each other and extra gift)
Also my cats are more than pets to me they are a massive part of the family, so to me you could ask the question does anyone give presents to husbands/siblings/friends/parents etc.

I give all my animals presents for Christmas. I really like to buy them snacks and put them in brown paper bags (stapled at the top) and let them sniff them through the holidays...They get so excited on christmas morning to finally get their snacks. I like to do stockings too. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 ferret. Christmas is for the ones you love, so I believe you shoud include your pets.

So many kids in Africa and other developing regions are starving and here they do not know what to do with their money. Is a cat a Christian, does a cat know what Christmas means, the cats must think that their masters are absolutely out of touch wsith the reality.

Yes they're part of the family too, right! Gifts are fun to give even if the receiver doesn't know what christmas is, i mean babies don't know what christmas is but we still get them gifts, no difference with cats, dogs mice or frogs, or any other pet

All 3 of my cats have their own personalised xmas stockings which are hung beside ours every xmas . They get their toys and their treats but always seem more intent on playing with the wrapping paper or in the stockings themselves than they are with anything that they contain .

We have a dog and two cats. My parents in law have a dog. My brother in law has a dog. My brother has a dog. My sister has a rabbit and a dog. My mother has a dog and a bird. We not only get our own pets Christmas gifts, but other family member's pets gifts as well (not expensive ones), and yes, they have stockings.
