A recipe I have calls for "Prepared Mustard". Is that just the simple yellow mustard you put on hotdogs and hamburgers?

to me that just means mustard that you can buy at the store in a jar. sometimes yellow mustard sometimes no...depends entirely on what you are making. I prefer dijon if I had to pick.

What does it mean when the recipe calls for dry prepared mustard? Do you somehow 'prepare' dry mustard, or do you dry the yellow store-bought stuff? This recipe is what brought me here. I have both store bought yellow hot-dog stuff, and a jar of dried mustard. Which should I use?

I always use Dijon when a recipe calls for mustard, but I think it just means any kind of mustard.

Yes, it is just the yellow mustard you get from the store.
