You've only been seeing him a couple of months. It's totally natural as it feels like there is more of a commitment to hold part of yourself back a little bit. If it bothers you that he is pulling back, I guess I'd recommend pulling back a little yourself and see what happens. Maybe withold the sex from him when he does that and see how he responds. As for competing, any guy worth having won't bother trying to compete because they know they can get somebody, and if you aren't focused on them, why would they bother?

Maybe you feel he is pulling away and it is just a feeling and nothing more. Consider this though, sometimes what seems to be real is not and sometimes it is real. I would not go and borrow trouble. I would forget what seems to be the case and wait until something actually happens to confirm your assumption.

Maybe he isn't sure what he wants, or whether he even wants a girlfriend right now, talk to him and be straight about it. You need to know where you stand or it won't work :)

Why do you need to tell him anything. Just let the relationship run its course.

Tell him he never had it so good, and if he doesn't open up, you'll be chatting it up with another dude.
