i pierced my nipple myself 2-3 weeks ago. i did everything. we didnt use the right things and didnt do it right at all. its crooked slightly. but probably after the first week i finally found a barbell 16 gauge to put in it. its fine now. doesnt hurt at all besides changing it. but i have a generic barbell in and 14 gauge rings i want in. i try to put them in but the pain is unbearable. i was told you can not do this. what should i do or use to gauge out my nipple?

I have had my nipples pierced and it will definitely hurt because you aren't supposed to stretch your nipple ( I hate when people call it gauging, it's stretching). Nipples aren't the same kind of skin as an earlobe or belly button so the size that it is pierced with is the size it should stay. You may have small nipples and that's why they pierced with a 16g. There is always a reason behind what size your piercer chooses. Just remember the bigger the ring the more likely it is to get ripped out. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Wow. You figure the lack of proper care and equipment would have meant you learned your lesson. I suggest you stop piercing yourself, grow up, save your money and do the correct thing and have a PROFESSIONAL pierce you from now on. You really should take it out now.
Nipples are easy to damage. Piercings are not as simple as shoving a needle though. Care needs to be taken to make sure the piercing is neither too shallow or deep. Its imperative that the equipment is clean and proper aftercare is followed because you are at a high risk for infection which spreads easily when located in nipple piercings.
First of all, no nipple should have been pierced at 16g. Second of all if you aren't a professional, don't even TRY to gauge your nipple. Even that small amount of difference in size can cause your nipple to tear, scar up and infect. Stop forcing the 14g jewelry in, its not gonna happen. Don't even bother using a taper because that will also tear your nipple and cause unnecessary amounts of pain. You will have to see a piercer and have them re-pierce the area with a correct gauge needle so that you can wear 14g jewelry

It is going to hurt when you gauge it. Just put the 14 in right away. It will hurt the same as when you pierced it. Just grin and bear it. It will heal and you'll have the jewelry in you want.
Good luck, you can do it:)

Anti-You pretty much summed up what I wanted to say. Kids, don't pierce and ESPECIALLY dont do stretchings yourself....you're lucky that you didn't have to take a trip to the E.R. go see a piercer...
