My wife and myself are planning to spend 2 weeks in december in Tonga , mostly in Vavau islands ( for fischs and snorkeling ) :Is it any serious risks - strikes, delayed planes , other risks - to travel right now in this country ? Thank you for your informations

I would highly suggest that you have a look at the government website http://www.dfat.gov.au/ as that is your best advice and a handy website to keep as it is kept up to date with everything that is happening in each country…hope that helps…and happy traveling…happy dayz

I was curious too, as we visited there several years ago. There is not much fresh info on the web, but it looks like there is a restricted zone in the capital (Nuku'alofa). Otherwise, there seems to be an attempt to get things back to normal.

Since you are staying away from Nuku'alofa you should be OK. I imagine they will treat you royally since some tourists are being scared away.

Tonga is way cool right now, or HOT ! its Fiji you would stay away from
