And I don't want Bible references. I mean, how can YOU, as a person, believe that? How can you let yourself believe in a religion that believes that?

I mean...is Gandhi in hell? That seems ridiculous to me.

I'm not saying it's unreasonable to believe truly bad people will go to hell, but because they don't follow your religion? It's that part I have a problem with. And not because I don't want to go to hell. I don't believe that hell exists.. I just don't think a good human being could think that anyone who doesnt believe what they believe deserves an eternity of suffering.

And I do appreciate the world and am in awe of it, but I don't attribute that greatness to a personal G-d.

Yeah. I think it's crazy. I Always had serious issues with the Christian God. I mean what’s up with that dude? He’s insanely jealous, vindictive and insecure. Why would a God need people bowing and scraping to him every waking moment? Then there’s the hell thing. How mean is that? I liken it to I’m a Mom right, with a bunch of children and one does something I don’t like so I throw the ne’er do well in a closet forever where he screams and wails. I can hear it, but I ignore it and shower my good kids with all my love. Where I come from that’s called child abuse. So, no, I couldn’t believe in such a God and actually I don’t. Christianity to me is a preposterous as worshiping a monkey.

I agree that a "religion" is not what you should believe in, but rather the teachings. A religion is merely a vehicle for delivering a message and putting people on the correct path. Additionally, I would say that any Christian would not be in the position to judge, because that is only God's right. I'm pretty sure Gandhi is not in Hell. Actually, I don't believe in Hell in that sense anyway. God has provided us with laws (or so says certain religions) and he has provided a penalty or not following the laws (as is the case with any law). God is merciful, but he is also just and does not go against his own laws, otherwise he would be a God of confusion and changing. Because there is a punishment attached to the law he therefore must judge people accordingly. Therefore, it is not our decision, but Gods judgment.

Lots of things appear ridiculous to people, at first.

People typing on a keyboard in front of a brightly colored screen in order to earn their living, seemed totally ridiculous only a generation ago, but internet billionaires are today's reality.

The simple fact is, the son of God came to earth as a man in order to rescue all people from evil.

But God doesn't force anyone to do anything they don't want to do.

Everyone has a free choice in the matter.

Anyone who fails to choose God will be left with the only other alternative, that from which he came to rescue us, which is eternal sufferng and death.

And whether Gandhi (or Hitler, for that matter) is in heaven or hell is strictly up to God to judge. He can save whomsoever he wishes, simply because he is God.

But it's a lot smarter to make the choice yourself, while there is still time.

Some part of your must beleive it too. Your need to tell others what to beleive has placed you in hell. You are not at peace. If you were at peace you would accept other people as exactly the way there supposed to be. You would flow with the world around you. You are in hell right now. Accept others live and let live. Beleive what you know and spread peace. You just another soldier in another relgious war.
Be a peacmaker. You will be in heaven right here on earth.

If someone here on earth commits a crime- and stnads before a Judge, do you think they should be set free? Say they murdered someone- ( because sin is sin, in God's eyes and all sin will be punished) No of course that man would be punished, thrown in jail right? BUT let's say that another man steps in and says "Hey Judge, I will take his place, please let him go free" --how would that man feel? GREATFUL! Right? He would love that person who did that for him.....and that is what Jesus did- so those who believe and put their trust in Him will be saved. No one can just enter heaven when they have lived in sin all of their lives and have not cared to repent or seek forgiveness- and we all sin and fall short of God's glory- as it says in Romans 3:23. According to God's standards- there is a place of punishment which is hell and God is JUST. Just like our justice system has punishment. Only God made a way for us to be forgiven and set free- through Jesus Christ, and the time is now to believe that....

To me, most religions believe the same basic things....and no, I can't see a good and loving God sending a certain one religion to hell....like all Christians think Muslims, Catholics, Jews, etc....are all going to hell....or that if your Christian but living a gay lifestyle you will go to hell, etc....to me this is completely insane! It says in the Bible that all sin is equal, so hypocrital Christians who slip and maybe lie...are in the same boat as a gay Christian man in my book. And if you love and believe in God...but you worship differently....your going to hell? Oh....I don't believe it for a minuite! Thats not a religion that I want to be a part of!

You must realize that Hell is simply separation from God. God wants people who WANT to be with Him to actually be with Him. If you do not want to be with Him, then he will not force that. It is the only loving choice. Love is a choice not obligation.

It is not that god sends people someplace terrible, it is that they do not want to be with God and He honors that request. Either you are with God (heaven) or not (Hell).

People have far to fanciful an idea that Hell is actually a fiery pit. The point the bible makes is that spending eternity away from God is like being in a fiery pit. But God will not violate you and make you do something you do not want. That is why Jesus died on the cross. If it was not for that sacrifice then all people would spend eternity separated from God. God gave us back the choice.

I agree too that there is no so-called hell. The only hell is here on Earth. I don't understand how people can believe that our loving God would send any of his children to a place such as what they describe as hell to be.

You ask a scriptural question and request not to receive scriptural answers that seems ridiculous to me. The answer is found in the same place the question comes from scripture. Hell is a grave and all men will die it is the fact of life that should be apparent even to you without scripture.
