I'm going to start barely eating. I'll stick with water and a small dinner. How long will it take until I see some weight loss?

This is one of the worst things you can do. you will end up starving your body, so when you feed it it will store the calories you consume. It will also consume your muscle for nourishment which will hinder your metabolism (read on). Not to mention you will feel very poor all day and may even become dizzy!

If you want to lose weight and keep it off I will suggest what everyone knows, diet and exercise.

1.Start small like walking more, park further away..etc. buy a pedometer to track your progress. Buy a pet and walk it!

2.Next eat right. What you want to do is change your metabolism which will be the only way you can keep the weight off. If you barely eat then when you start eating again you will balloon back up

3. build muscle You can do this in your everyday routine, when you build muscle your body will consume more calories during the day which will help keep the weight off permantly.

4. Eat more often. I know this may sound contradictory to what you want to do but if you keep your metabolism running at full bore all day you stand a much better chance of actually losing fat.

I went through this same thing myself and had to learn the hard way, If you need more tips check out my profile and send a message, I'd be glad to help!

Thats really not healthy! You need food for energy and you need to work out to burn the calories in a healthy manner. You could develope an eating disorder eating that little... Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Just watch what you eat, work out at least 30 minutes a day and you'll see some natural normal weight loss! Good Luck!

the best way to actually shut down your metabolism is to eat the way you just described. By eating 6 small meals a day that are focused on higher amounts of protein and medium fats, the good kind, and fiber, you will be able to lose the weight you want to. Forget about the treadmills and the cardio, start working out with weights to increase the muscle mass in your body, muscle is active and requires calories to survive, therefore you burn more calories as you are relaxing or sleeping.

If you do that, you can throw your body into starvation mode which means you will really not lose any weight, you may even gain weight. If you eat 5-6 small meals instead and work out 5-6 days a week, your your metabolism will speed up and your body will become a fat burning machine.

Quickly, but your metabolism will also start to slow down immediately so you'll get to the point where you have to literally starve yourself to lose weight...once you start eating again, you'll put all those pounds back on (and then some).

Skipping meals or seriously restricting your food intake is NOT the way to diet...it's the way to wreck any potential you have for losing weight.

Watch your calorie intake...lower it to about 1200 a day (no lower w/o a docs supervision) and workout regularly...decreasing calories and increasing activity (shoot for exercising 1 hr a day) is the best and safe way to lose weight and keep it off.

Good luck

throw in about 30 minutes of exercise DAILY and eat some real food and you'll start seeing it in 1-2 weeks and you'll only tone up from there
