It's absolutely worth it. I have a 52" rear-projection HDTV in my living room and then a conventional TV in my kitchen so it's possible to see both at once. There's no comparison-- HD kicks butt. "Tara" has obviously never done this comparison-- "all marketing hype"? Oh please. Ok, go ahead and say that HD doesn't totally look like real life, but in comparison to the old crap, it does. 3D? We're talking about picture resolution here (HD is over 6 times greater) not 1950's 3D technology. Now, if you're the type that can't see the difference between VHS and DVD, or you don't watch much TV anyway, maybe it's not worth it to you to have over 6 times the resolution. But to most of us, you'll never want to watch conventional crap again after you've gotten used to HD. Remember though, it takes more than an HDTV to get HD. You've got to have HD service and tuner (cable box) through your cable or satellite company. I used the strategy of getting HD for the least amount possible by buying a rear-projection (NON-flat panel) TV for $1000 and renting the HD box from the cable company with service for about $10/month. People are too hung up on flat-panel. It's HD that really matters, not how thin your TV is.

yes, i have. aq hdtv makes such a big difference. it is so much better. The differnce is the resolution, so you will enjoy much more if you have an hdtv.
