You didn't say what state you are from, which may make a difference with the temps. But, from what I know, and I have done motor vehicle work for different dealers and in different states (NJ,NY,PA. KS,MO, TX, CA) dealers are only legally allowed to issue 1 temporary tag. Sounds to me like they don't have a title for your car!! If they don't have one, they can't give you one!! Check with the DMV in your state. They will tell you the laws in that state. They probably have a website you can go to to find out that information too. In the states that I know, a dealer can not legally sell you a car without a title, or proof of ownership. Logically you can't sell something you don't own.
IF, which I doubt, they are allowed to issue multiple temporary tags, you should be all right. If they aren't allowed, more likely the case, then you can get in trouble, they may impound the car,and they can certainly get in trouble. REPORT them to the state. If an investigation proves they are doing this illegally, and the state will investigate it. All you have to do is show them all the Temporary tags they have sent to you. Their Temporary license will be revoked and they will not be able to issue temporay tags anymore. And get a healthy fine in the process. In a number of states, it is the owners responsibility to title and register the vehicle. But you have to have the title to do that. Reputable dealers will arrange for a rental car for you to use until the title comes in. Not legal in the states I worked in, but keeps the customer happy, they have a car and probably won't notify the state as to the problem. So call or go to your local/state DMV or visit their website and find out..and report the dealer to the state if the multiple temporary tags are illegal.

if it used to be leaping and hesitating from day one why didnt you deal with the concern then? The trader mightve been just a little extra accommodating. Now, you're out of good fortune. There is not any regulation. Sorry. Next time you purchase a vehicle get it CHECKED via a official mechanic FIRST earlier than purchasing then whilst matters begin going incorrect deal with the concern ASAP. When a vehicle is new to you all of the issues are too, so that you need to be EXTRA wary. As for what you'll be able to do----is the vehicle valued at it to you to repair the tranny? Trading or promoting it in general wouldnt make feel due to the fact you're paying on it nonetheless...

Sounds like you went to a bad dealership. Go to the DMV and ask if they have had any probles with that company before. They can run a title search for you. Hope you didn't get burned too bad.

This probably depends on which state you live in. Check with the DMV. The answer might even be on the dmv website
