they are called filet minon, and I think the best way to cook them are under the broiler

They're called medallions, fillet mignon has also been known to be served this way, although I think that's a waste of a steak! Cooked them like you would a steak... They're no different, the bacon is there for flavor and tenderness.

And to answerer #1 they are a very popular item. You'll have to give it a try. Usually your local grocery store will have them in their meat case, they, of course, are a "mock" version since real fillet Mignon is very expensive.

Like all the answers the very best is to BBQ them, make sure you also do up some onions and if you like them some mushrooms as well

charcoal grill on the outside edges, nice low steady heat with no vent.

Those are best on a charcoal grill, but even baked they are tastey! I love em.
