Well, Christmas in the simplest is the day we celebrate the memory of the birth of Jesus.. Like his birthday.
The deeper meaning today is to remember God's love to us by sending his child.. Jesus humbleness 2 come in poor human flesh & blood.. & more importantly, for us to think: Do we really accept him in our lives / hearts or do we refuse him or let him sleep with the animals?
Christmas is also a renewed chance for us to receive Jesus not on earth, but in our hearts & consequently in our acts & deeds too!

The true meaning of Christmas is something that each person interperates differently, within themselves. For some, the meaning of Christmas can mean family. Christmas is a time for families to reunite and spend time together. With a big dinner and holiday music and cheer. For others, mainly children, Christmas is about presents and toys, and the tradition of Santa Claus and leaving out the cookies and milk. Decoration can be another meaning of Christmas, people go obessesive over their houses and making them look all pretty and bright, also Christmas trees too. Finally, Christmas can also be a religious factor for some. It was the day that Jesus was born. People of religion like to celebrate that first.
Hope this helps...

You know what Christmas actually dates back to Druids and the whole wiccan belief that's why there is a christmas "tree" as in tree of life and why is there bunnies and eggs and chickens for easter?because of spring meaning a revival of life so christmas really has nothing to do w/ Christ because we actually have no idea when he was born..so sorry i don't know what type of "true meaning" speech you can write..:)

You should look at the 4 gospels and take it from the beginning- and write in your words what happened as far as God propheseying about Jesus coming, and then the angel telling Mary she would give birth to a son, the son of God. Use scripture! And make sure you quote it and let them know where it is in the Bible...so they do not come across as your own words.
You can even look in Isiaiah as it speaks of Christ's coming..."The root of Jesse"

If you want to write about the true meaning, research about the winter solstice.
If you want to write about the given meaning from the church, then lie as they did and use the false story of Nativity.
