To make a long story short, my ex boyfriend and I dated for 3 years, he went into the Navy and we both couldn't adjust to the long distance, so we broke up, well we've recently been talking and he comes home next weekend from Japan, I haven't seen him face to face in over a year, he wants to take me out to this really nice restaurant on the 19th..which would have been our anniversary, he also wants me to stay with him while he is home (like live at his house)...what does this mean? why does he want to take me out on our "would have been" anniversary?

Because he's lonely, has been away from family and friends for a long time, and wants to get back into normal life-- you happen to be available and willing. Don't live in his house like his little geisha girl though. He's probably going to be romantic and sweet because he needs to get laid.

There are two possible reasons that come to mind:

1.) He misses you and wants to see you.

2.) He misses female contact and wants to have sex with someone, anyone.

There's only one way to find out which of those statements is true. Go out with the guy (if you want to). What harm can come from it? But if you have relations with him please make sure he wears protection. Good luck!
