Storytelling may be difficult for some children because:

a. they speak too softly to be heard
b. they can't think of anything to say
c. there are not pictures to talk about
d. they must speak alone without carrying on a conversation

All of the above may be correct. Children are all different, and their reasons for not being able to tell a story may be different.

it could be that the child is just shy. are they doing this in front of a group or to parents?
