I would definitely go with the ceremony. Yes, the planning and work will drive you crazy and at times you will wish you had chosen the city hall marriage but in the end you will be so happy with the ceremony!! I know I was because it turns out so wonderfully!!

Ceremony!! Not because my name is Cere' like in Ceremony :P heehee but because a ceremony to me is the icing on the cake (completely yummy). A special, spiritual way to proclaim your love not only to your love, to the families and friends, but to God too. A special event in your lives that can be shared with your children and their children. City Hall marriage is fast, less expensive but when you are there in the hall saying "i do" youre saying that in front of strangers.....people that just happen to be in the same room at the same time you take your vows. Why not say "i do" and see the eyes of your loving family and friends who support you as you start a new life with your love. Thats how i see the difference. Ready for a piece of cake now..extra icing?? :P

There are other options. Such as a civil ceremony by a non-denominational minister. Many will chrage about the same as the City Hall, but it is more intimate and special. I do this for many of my couples who, honestly, don't want to get married in criminal court. During the summer I have a beautiful white arbor set up outside and during the winter I have my Christmas tree set up in the living room. they can invite family and friends and it is something they won't forget, in a good way.

...Let the bride choose. You can get married at City Hall and then have a reception where you can repeat your vows for the people who come.If it's the first wedding for the both of you, a ceremony(big or small) will be very memorable.Congratulations.....

Why not do a City Hall Marriage (if you're not into god/church/hullabalu), then through a big reception/party for your friends and family! That way you can get the big party, involve friends and family and get the gifts!!!

The expiration date on the marriage license in common words signifies that the ceremony should be done interior 60 days of situation...if no longer then the license expires and in case you want to marry you want to re-keep on with. If the marriage became done and the marriage registered (filed) then you're legally married...and because that NYS is a 'fault' state in case you document for divorce you need to have 'grounds' or motives recognized by NYS regulation...... .....it could be extra perfect in case you recommend on returning for your native land to attend till you've done so earlier you divorce...it could be extra accessible. i'd strongly recommend you to a minimum of see a legal specialist on a consultation foundation... the cost is nicely worth it and he/she will be in a position to handbook you interior the perfect route that you'll bypass in...good luck.

i had a ceremony.my friend went to city hall.my photos and dvd are the treasures of my life,i show them to friends/family and view them on anniversaries.my husband enjoys them, too.my city hall friend had 2 strangers as witnesses and took no photos.it was economical, but now she and her husband are sad, they have no pictures to show when their kids ask about mommy and daddys wedding.if its cost ur worried about, most places have local parks with indoor/oudoor venues.we rented a room with porch overlooking a lake at our local park,it was 100 dollarsa an hour,we had a 2 and a half hour reception.u dont have to get an expensive caterer,if ur young and casual,u can order soda and domino's! we danced on the deck to a friend with a boom-box who played dj,it was inexpensive, but absolutely magic!!!!treat urself,u only live once-and someday,ur kids will want to see ur memories-they wont want to be told"well,it was just more practical to go downtown to someones office." there isnt enough magic in everyday life, treat urself to a party thats-all about the two of u !!!!whooo-hoo!!!!!!enjoy !!!!

We did an informal outdoor wedding, and a backyard BBQ a week later instead of a reception. Had a great time!
