I move to houston from nyc. My apartment in nyc was 1700 dollars for 1 bedroom. now i have a home in houston for 500 dollars a month. If you have no real experience in anything do not expect to get paid much. Now if you want to live in the ghetto you can expect to pay 700-900 a month for a 1-3 bedroom. I advise against that.
