Easier riddle?

This will be a far less confusing riddle.

You have 9 pennies. 1 of these pennies weighs less than the other eight; however, besides weight, the pennies are indistinguishable. You have to find out which one of these pennies is the one that weighs less than the others.
But your only weighing device is a balancing scale, so you will not get any numeric weights. Also you only get to use the scale twice.
Plan a way to discover which penny weighs less that will work every time and not rely on chance.

Note: Just weighing one penny against another leaves the chance that one of the other seven is the penny that weighs less. Therefore, it is unacceptable. You must plan a method that will allow you to discover which penny it is everytime.

Divide into 3 stacks of 3
Weigh any 2 stacks. If they balance the third stack has the odd ball. At this point weigh any 2 of that stack if they balance the 3 penny is the light one. If the do not balance the one that sits highest on the scale is the light one.

put 5 on one side and 4 on the other.... pull one off...it will show you which side weighs less...thats the side with the penny that weighs less! if after u pull off the 1st penny so there are now 4 on either side...and they weigh the same than that is the odd penny...if not then continue to pull one off from each side untill the scales are even...then remove the rest of the pennies and take the 2 pennies that you had taken off before the scales were even and weigh them against each other. and walah...

put four pennies on each side, if they match then the one you have is the off one.
if they dont which ever side is lighter re scale the four but exchange one penny for the one you are holding(you know the one you are holding is the right weight because they 4 0n 4 was right) if they match up this time the penny you are holding is lighter, if not which ever one is lighter has the lighter penny. if it is from the side you replaced the origal hand held penny then the other one is the lighter penny.
