Ok, so in english today me and another person got sidetracked off our the conversation about transcendentialism and we ended up arguing religion. Now, im not trying to piss off anyone by this, although im sure i will, but i would like to hear some people who have valid arguements AGAINST my beliefs. If you have ones that agree, you can say why. I don't believe in THE god, but A god. This is because many christian views are horrendously inhumane, such as the denial of marriage rights to gays. not to mention, the whole "civil union" bullcrap. The ones who don't want them to have any union at all should be either kicked in the nuts or punched in the ovaries, gender depending, but the civil union ones suck too. Why can't it be called marriage? it's between two human beings who love eachother, which is NO different than a marriage between a man and woman. And i don't wanna hear any ignorant jerk offs go off on how it was 'Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.'...must continue on additional info

also, i am pro choice. i think that, although it's sad, if people are getting abortions its because they are unable to support a child. therefore, the child would probably be in foster care or an orphanage, where they would not be able to enjoy the same happiness as other children, and goodness knows there's enough children in orphanages already (which is very sad). Finally, i think that is really sucks the way many christians are so damn pushy. and im not ignorant, i realize that most christians aren't pushy at all, but just hear me out. If i don't believe what you do, it doesn't mean im going to hell. and who the hell do you think you are telling ME that YOUR religion is the only right now, and that everyone else is screwed? i find it extremely arrogant personally. ok, im done, ill add more if i think of more. but, basically, im not looking for people telling me how offended they were by this, i want alternate oppinions that can be backed up, and don't make bible references.

The whole Civil Union thing, is to give gays the same rights as married couples, and try and keep everyone who is against gay marriage happy. I totally agree with civil unions, marriages, or whatever you want to call them. My Grandmother passed away a few months ago, she was lesbian. Because she had spent so much of her life with her partner, her partner knew how she wanted her funeral handled, so she made arrangements. Had my family wanted to, they could have stopped this from happening. This is one of the main reasons I support this. I don't agree with your comments about violence to those who disagree, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. However I do believe that one of these days, we will look back and wonder why in the world people thought gays weren't entitled to a lawful union. Just like now we look back and wonder why in the world anyone would want to have humans as slaves and treat them like animals. This is just a phase, a growing stage, if you will. People need time to adjust and understand, and unfortunately that can sometimes take years. And, I agree, I am so sick of the Adam and Eve v/s Adam and Steve thing, I mean honestly, do you think we've never heard that one before?

Honestly I don't see a problem with it. Many says GOD is merciful, loving, and understanding so why would HE punish people for being who they are? A GOD like all I mentioned before would understand them and want them to be who they are. The bible has all of that stuff about marriage being between man and woman and be fruitful and multiply etc but there are many people that do not want to get married or have children. That does not make them sinners or evil. There are also people that get married but not in a church because they do not believed in the church. The bible in my opinion should not really be taken seriously because there are many contradictions and inconsistencies. Also if the bible was closely followed, many things in this world would not be as it is today. I think it is more a guide. Homosexuals in my opinion are people that love each other. The only difference is that their relationship is man/man or woman/woman. In my opinion the choice to be married should be left up to that person. Marriage is a commitment that should be decided between 2 people. No one else.
On the whole abortion issue, I think that is a woman's right to do what she want with her body. Personally I would never get an abortion but I would never get on someone for doing it because it is not my business. Many people say women should not have an abortion and that there are families that would take the child. I just would like to know if those same people cry out would be willing to adopt those children. Not all children get adopted. Many do end up in foster care. If a child is sick, the less chance they have of being adopted because many people want a healthy child. There are some that would adopt the child but they are the rare kind ones. I look at it this way, if there was no woman there would be no baby cause women's bodies are the ones that nurture the child. So we have no right to say you can't do what you want with your own body. In addition, if abortion was not legal then we would have those illegal, dangerous, back door abortion like 50+ years ago. The babies would still be aborted in even worse ways than they are doing now.

I agree that there are a lot of lame answers and excuses that disagree with your views. I don't mean that to criticize the above postings.
I think that the Biblical viewpoint has to do with two points. The first is the idea that one of the most important functions and blessings for mankind is the idea of procreation. Our current American laws even recognize this as one of the essential basic elements that make a legal marriage, for example in the issues regarding a legal annulment. Of anything that makes humans what they are, this potential of childbirth is one of the most essential.
The second important Biblical point is on the importance of marriage, not just as a legal contract, but as either an ordinance or a sacrament (depending on the particular Christian beliefs). Either way it is viewed as a really important thing in the Christian faith and something that is a vow to God and a method of receiving grace and blessings from God. God created it for the special purpose to create this union between a man and a woman. Sex is part of the blessings of this union and only allowed as a part of this union. The reason is because during sex, the souls of a man and a woman become fused.
Now of course even Christians mess this up and do what they want and not always follow God's plans. The Bible is really one story after another of how man messes up all of the good plans that God has to protect and bless his people. I don't think that many Christian views are horrendously inhumane, but I do think that Christians and non Christians do horrendously inhumane things to each other and themselves.
Whether each person believes in the Biblical views towards the essential blessings of childbirth, the special importance of marriage as a vow to God, and the union of two souls, is up to each person.

Hi,
I wanted to let you know how I feel about abortion. I know it's a hot topic and that so many people think that it's up to the mother and that the child could end up living a worse life than death. Granted, I believe that all infants that are aborted are returned back to Jesus, so I have peace in knowing that. However, I also know about the process of abortion and the suffering of the infant in the process. How they can be torn apart, piece by piece or in partial-birth abortion they have a sharp instrument shoved into the base of the brain while most of the body is in the mother.
But I think the saddest part of all is the lineage that is broken by the abortion of a child. Abortions kill doctors, ministers, teachers, scientist, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and so on and so on. The scientist that may have found a cure for cancer may have been aborted today. Every generation that was to come from the birth of that child was stopped and will never happen. If you really think about it like that you can see the serious impact abortion is having on our society. And yes, I do believe all the other things such as it's murder, morally wrong, etc. I believe that there is the possibility of greatness in the birth of every child and it is not our decision to bring a permanent end to what could be.

Sweetheart you are thinking too hard. First if you are in English class quit talking in class and learn to spell correctly. Secondly, a marriage is between a man and a woman if they want to marry in Holy matrimony. The bible clearly states that God made man and then he saw that he needed a mate so he gave him woman. Gay people can do what ever they want as far as I am concerned. But, they cannot be married in Holy matrimony. You may change your mind about some of the things that you think are okay or cool when you are a little older and more mature.

I don't really care what it's called. Civil Union is recognized in the same way marriage is in the US as far as the legal side of it is concerned. I can understand a religion denying a couple (gay or not) a right to be married IN their church, but other than that, it's really none of anyone's business when 2 consenting adults want to get married.

God's first commandment was to be fruitful and multiply. He made people male and female so they could do so. Any union between two gay men or two gay women violates what God has commanded, and is considered evil-a willful act of spite against God, which is what most gay marriages and civil unions are today.
You will rarely see a homosexual union that praises God. When interviewed most gays will spite the church and smear Christians and other people who are living as God commanded them as proof of this. They live their lives in open and willful disobedience and open rebellion to God.
Such marriage also defies the laws of nature. Do you ever see two tomcats getting it on? What about two male dogs? I just bought a futon sofa that was shipped to me in pieces. The seat and back come in two male and female parts that slide together. If the company sent me four male pieces, do you think I could assemble the futon?
Naturally, there is no union whatsoever when gays marry. There is only strife and a willful disobedience and rebellion against God and His natural law.

i'm on no account offended by using human beings doubting my own reviews...if something Christians could assume to be doubted. in the event that they have confidence in Jesus Christ and have had an adventure with the Holy Spirit that's not contradictory to the character of the Holy Spirit (i.e. "God needs you to grant me funds, call this variety. I swear, He instructed me! Aasdkajshfkj (conversing "in tongues")") then I see no reason to doubt them, provided they have a relationship with God. Christians have confidence that Jesus is the only thank you to heaven, and that Christianity is the only actual faith. no person could have a relationship with the different "god" however the God of the Bible, in accordance to Christianity. "Like while an atheist says they essentially prayed to God yet heard silence, Christians will say that the atheist is mendacity or incorrect." If anybody tells me that they heard silence while they prayed to God, then i won't doubt it, somewhat in the event that they declare to not be a Christian; the Christian who tells an atheist that they could be waiting to pay attention the voice of God is improper. "Or while a Muslim says they have spoken to Allah, Christians say that it became into rather a demon or some thing." i think of Muslims say the same element approximately Christians; that is form of implied interior the perception equipment. in the event that they have been spiritually motivated and it wasn't by using God, then it is going to have been by using another non secular being, or they are improper. What else can Christians say? Is it hypocritical? Hypocritical might mean that Christians are claiming to hold ideals that don't proceed to be consistent in each ingredient of their lives (i.e. telling those that they don't have confidence that abortion is sweet, and then getting an abortion on the same time as no person is calling). while Christians say all of us else is incorrect, that is not hypocritical, that is unique. And while human beings pay attention "unique" then they think of "undesirable", yet that is not inevitably actual. Christians have confidence that there is largely one God, and one fact, and that they know it. I see not something incorrect with that perception, provided Christians stay as much because it. finally, it relies upon on what God "instructed" whoever believes they heard His voice. If that is not opposite to God's character, possibly God did tell them, the Christian has no way of understanding provided regardless of the guy is asserting does not contradict God's character as revealed interior the Bible.

I am not and refuse to be Holy Spirit for one single person in this world. If you want to live in a manor that God has said is detestable to Him.. Do it... If you don't see that Human life is a sacred gift from God above.. Fine kill your unborn. ( I have always wondered why a man who kills a pregnant woman who is carrying a baby she wanted can be charged with double homicide??) One of those double standard things I guess only wanted unborn are considered to be human... Your beliefs don't seem to have any bed rock foundation. Nothing solid to build a life on... Oh well sounds like you have been told about life in Jesus Christ.. Your choice to reject it.... Jim

i don't believe the stuff about being gay is not a choice. it is against the bible's teachings to be gay, marriage was designated by god, specifically in the bible to be between a man and his woman counterpart. god designed men and women to be physically, mentally, and emotionally different so that together we could bring out the best of both worlds.
