Where you go is what you are going to get.

I assume that a nice guy means that your looking for a meaningful relationship. If so, believe in fate. A bar scene is a good place to find "A Nice Guy" looking for their "Nice Girl" but remember that there are also creeps and losers doing the same. Adding alcohol in the mix can leave you thinking you have the right guy and later discovering out that he just wanted to break your heart. Try other mingling places that may have less negative influences. Churches are always on top of the list or even start your own social group and invite your friends out. You never know, your friends boyfriends friend might be the guy for you. And remember, if you believe in fate, he might just find you.

I'm right there with you. I love it too, but unfortunately it isn't the greatest place to meet guys. I think it is possible though. Just remember that you get what you put out there. If a girl acts all drunk and all over the place she is going to attract the wrong kind of attention. But if she is confident, collected and classy she will get a nice guy! There aren't tons, but there are some nice guys at bars. Good luck! = )

No it's not a place to meet a NICE guy. Maybe it's a place to meet a HOT guy or a drunk, but do you talk about personal goals and values and motivation when you're at the bar? Think about the scenario...

Speaking as a so-called "nice guy" I want to second the comment above about meeting people at church. I am not saying you have to be all JESUS! JESUS! SAVE ME! or whatever, but if your personal values come from your spirituality, maybe it's a place to start. A majority of, but certainly not ALL, nice people I've met here in college have been from a catholic club I am in. I have met nice people in my classes too... You really see where people place their values when you are in a learning situation together!

Maybe you value someone who knows how to party - so meet them at a party! Maybe you value someone who knows how to cook - so meet them at the grocery store! Just a couple ideas... I think the place in which you meet someone can help you figure out (but of course does not limit that person to) what they're all about... Seems like a no brainer to me. Go somewhere where YOU are comfortable.

There's good bars and there's bad bars...

A good bar would be where some business men have a couple of martini's after work. That's be a nice place to meet a guy.

But a bar where people get into fights and get drunk would be a horrible place to meet a guy.

You know, I used to think I would never want to meet a guy in a bar until it happened. I met the guy I am seeing now in a bar, and he is a great guy. You just have to be able to weed through the good and the bad, but then again, you'd have to do that no matter what situation you met a guy in. Good luck, honey!

They can be a good place to meet someone. i met my boyfriend at a bar and we have been togethr for 6 months now. I just wouldn't suggest going out alone with him right away. Have a group date with some of your friends and some of his to start things out. Then once you've found out that he is a nice guy and you really have got to know him you can spend some alone time together.

Not usually. It depends on the type of guy you want to meet. There are exceptions, but for the most part guys that hang out at bars:
a. spend A LOT of time hanging out in bars
b. are not looking for something serious
c. hang out with guys that are less than good rolemodels/ leaders

But then again...you may get along well if you can party together. Do you want to continue that after finding a "nice guy"?

Its possible but mostly your going to meet guys that go to bars a lot. Not that anything is wrong with that but they usually aren't the nice guy type. If anything you want to find the guys that are out for a special occasion and dont usually frequent bars.

The bar is the best place to meet the wrong guy! Sure, he's nice...after your 3rd drink he's even cute! And he's mr. perfect as he's driving you back to his place. Just don't look forward to what you wake up next to.

Go to the dog park, a library, the laundromat, a sporting goods store.

Going out and drinking on the weekends is fun... nice guys are everywhere though.

You just have to look.
